The Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Late Model Series kicks off their 16 race 2017 schedule on Saturday, April 15 at Mercer Raceway Park with a 30 lap $3000 to win event. Dave Hess Jr. will lead the ULMS contingent into Mercer as the series defending champion. Bristolville, Ohio hot shoe, Russ King won the ULMS event last year at Mercer.
Expected racers on hand besides Hess and King are ULMS Elite Program Drivers, John Volpe, Greg Oakes, Bobby Rohrer, Charlie Powell and Breyton Santee. ULMS officials have been notified that new potential Elite drivers joining the ULMS Series in 2017 in Damian Bidwell, Max Blair, Rob Blair and Kyle Knapp. Mercer fans can expect those drivers along with Jared Miley, Keith Barbara, Skip Lindermuth, Doug Eck, Bob Dorman, Chris Hackett, Devin Lewis and Eric Andrus will be some of many that are expected to be on hand for the season opening $3000 to win event.
Joining the ULMS Late Models will be Open Stocks, 358 modifieds and 305 sprint cars. Mercer gates open at 4pm with Driver Meeting at 5:15, pill cut off at 5:20pm and ULMS Integra Shock the Clock hot lap qualifying will be at 545pm to kick off the night action. ULMS Late Model teams are reminded that RED AMB transponders are required and the ULMS tire rule is Hoosier 1300 or American Racer 44 or harder compound rule. Entry Fee for ULMS racers will be $30. After Mercer, ULMS heads to Thunder Mountain Raceway, Brookville, PA for a $3000 to win event on Friday, April 28th. The next day the series roll into Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway in Imperial, PA for the annual Red Miley Rumble that will pay a minimum of $3000 to win also for a pair of three grand events back to back days.
