Ohio Valley To Host “Finale At The Valley” Saturday

(Washington, West Virginia) The Ohio Valley Speedway located just minutes outside of Parkersburg in Washington West Virginia is set to host the tracks annual “Finale at the Valley” season points championship race this Saturday night. The event which will feature elevated purses throughout each of the tracks regular classes, will also mark the final points race for the 2016 season at ‘The Valley’. The event which will return for the 11th consecutive season will help celebrate the 11th season for the track under the leadership of the McPeek and Vincent families, which have enabled the popular event to grow in excitement for both fans and teams each and every season.

While the 2016 season at Ohio Valley saw Mother Nature claim numerous events at the track, the 3/8th mile oval still continued to produce more than it’s fair share of excitement as countless regional and local favorites did battle at Ohio Valley in numerous events over the summer. The busy summer months, which were highlighted by the record setting Jim Dunn Memorial and other more traditional events including the Late Model “Summer Sizzler” and “Topless Modified” special saw stout fields and exciting racing. With both the AMRA Late Model and AMRA Modified divisions seeing numerous local and regional favorites picking up wins including Freddie Carpenter, Tyler Carpenter, Jeff Burdette and more in the Late Models and Tyler Evans, Jacob Hawkins, Tyler Carpenter to name a few, scoring wins in the AMRA Modifieds, the quality of fields on hand each week has been without question. With the AMRA National point standings also closing in on it’s final weeks, this Saturday’s show is expected to be one of the hottest of the summer, as the track looks to close out an exciting regular season of racing in a big way.

This Saturday’s event is expected to draw stout fields in each competing division and will be the final event of the season prior to the venues finale in late September with the 2nd Annual Gibby’s King Championship Race set for September 24th which will also feature racing in the AMRA Late Models and AMRA Modifieds. This Saturday’s show will see gates open at 4 PM with racing set to begin at 7:30. Competing in the evening along with the AMRA Late Models and AMRA Modifieds will be the tracks Pure Stock and 4 Cylinder Classes plus WRA Mini Wedges.
