(Middlebourne, WV) Excitement is defined as the feeling of great enthusiasm and eagerness. Over the last five seasons modified racing in the Eastern U.S. has felt a lot of it. A by product of the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour which showcases some of the nation’s biggest modified events each year and features the best of the best drivers in the region. Getting it’s start back in the 2012 season the Renegades of Dirt will kick off their fifth anniversary tour this Thursday with the 14th Annual “Heritage 101” weekend. Another exciting weekend awaits with $30,000 dollars in purse & prizes set aside for racers over the weekend including a brand new Harley Davidson set to be awarded to the overall points champion after three days.

Yes, a brand new HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE! This is just one of a dozen plus events over the last four seasons that has helped the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour ascend to one of the nation’s most popular open wheel organizations. The tour prides itself on creating ‘events’ not races where its the culmination of larger purses or prizes with the atmosphere of a big show. In 2016 the tour will be no different, with perhaps the most lucrative slate yet in terms of ‘events’ featuring several $4,000 to win plus shows on the schedule.

The fifth anniversary season gets underway with a rare Thursday night part of a three day weekend dubbed the “Heritage 101”. The tour will see the green at one of the raciest quarter miles in the country the Tyler County Speedway on April 14th followed by visits to Skyline Speedway on Friday April 15th, and Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH on Saturday April 16th. Participants will be gunning for points that will rank them throughout the weekend for a chance at grabbing one of dirt racing’s coolest prices, the brand new Harley. Each night will also award the evenings winner with $1,101 dollars plus a commemorative trophy and plastic check. Numerous other weekend bonuses will also be up for grabs including $101 dollar bonuses to the 5th, 10th, 15th, & 20th place points finishers and a $500 certificate off a new Throw N’ Dirt Chassis on behalf of the Fairmont, WV based manufacture to the weekends 15th place in points.

The top fifteen after this weekend will also earn a spot in the all-new 2016 “Championship Series” for the Renegades of Dirt that fits a format similar to that of the NASCAR chase grid. A highly intense season is expected as racers feel the pressure to perform each night in a ‘must go’ scenario throughout the year.
