Join us Saturday Night, July 4th for round #2 of the Independence weekend at the Tyler County Speedway as the Hometown Racing Association is pleased to present an action packed night at the ‘Bullring’ as a Night of Destruction will headline the Middlebourne, WV oval. For the first time in the history of the speedway, Thomas Motorsport, LLC will present a one of a kind $500 to win car crushing Figure 8 race that will leave fans oohing and ahhing as the talented drivers hit the crossing in breathtaking fashion. That’s not all as a $500 to win Full Size Demo Derby and a $400 to win Compact Derby will also be highlights of the Night of Destruction.

The Figure 8 Race will consist of Full Size Cars built to Demolition Derby specification rules. The cars will snake around two circles crossing paths twice every lap. In this high speed game of chicken, drivers will drive repeatedly into crossing traffic in what is called the crossover. At the crossover, drivers must decide whether to go in front or behind the other car, hoping the other driver is thinking the same. As drivers weave through the chaos, being fast will only get you so far.

Following the Figure 8 Race the drivers can participate in a demolition derby. If the same driver can win both events they can earn a $500.00 bonus. There will also be a demolition derby for Compact Cars (4 & 6 cyl.). Drivers do not have to participate in the Figure 8 Race to enter the demo derby.
