Southern Ohio Speedway To Take Time Off

1 min read

WHEELERSBURG, OH-Southern Ohio Speedway officials announce that the track will be taking time off to regroup effective immediately.

The decision to take time off to regroup is a decision that had to be made after a record low car count the last race on June 12th. The track simply cannot pay as high of purses as is being paid and have the car turnout like it was the last race. Our payouts have consistently been the highest in the region, but the car counts aren’t showing what they should be with the purses. This comes on a season that has seen a smooth, racey track surface each and every race and each show totally complete before midnight.

The track does have intentions to continue racing later on this season. Track officials will take this time off to regroup to come up with a plan to keep the track financially viable and continue to put on great shows. We cannot thank all of the race fans and race teams that support the track enough for your support.
