WHEELERSBURG, OH-Over the past couple of weeks H&L Motorsports, LLC officials have made trips to the Local Dirt Racers Swap Meet and the Tri-State Racers Swap Meet promoting the upcoming 2015 season. The track also released a new fan and driver survey that brought in over 130 surveys with feedback about the upcoming season. The common theme at the swap meets and with the surveys was excitement about the new 2015 format.

This season will see the debut of the Southern Ohio Championship Series that will make up the large majority of the 2015 races. All Southern Ohio Championship races, which includes the Opening Night races on April 3rd, will pay Late Models $2,000 to win and $250 to start, Modifieds $750 to win and $140 to start, and pay Sport Mods $300 to win. The new purse structure increases start money by $50 in the Late Models and $40 in the Modifieds over last years purses. That is not to mention increased money within the top 10.

Another big part of the racing format will be the addition of Consolation Features. These consolation features will be ran at the end of the night and pay Late Models $400 to win and Modifieds $200 to win. Only drivers who have not won a feature at SOS from 2011 forward will be eligible to compete in these races. Once a driver wins a Consolation Feature, they are no longer eligible to compete.

“All of the feedback we have received about the new format changes have been very positive”, stated SOS co-promoter T. J. Layne. ”We really wanted to put a lot of focus this season on providing more drivers with the opportunity to earn more money. The additional start money has caught a lot of people’s attention and it looks like lots of drivers have their sights set on winning a Consolation Feature. Our purses are really strong up front and in the middle as well. I think we have a good rounded program put together that should appeal to race teams of all budgets.”

Track officials are putting the final touches on lots of things. The 2015 rules packages are expected to be announced within the next couple of weeks. Officials are also working on finalizing the 2015 schedule and putting some special things together for the Sport Mod class.
