(Peebles, OH) The NASCAR Sprint Cup series just rounded out their first season under the new Chase for the Sprint Cup format in which the top 4 drivers in points are pitted against each other in the final race of the year. The champion was decided by whom of the 4 drivers finished ahead of the others. After seeing the excitement built around the new format and the equal opportunity for 4 drivers to win, Brushcreek Motorsports Complex officials are ready to announce a new Championship format for all classes in 2015. Here is how it will work:

Unlike NASCAR’s Chase, there will be no “rounds” or “Win and You’re In” scenarios. Consistent finishes will still be key as all year long points will be collected and Championship Standings compiled. However, after the second to last race of the season only the top four in points will have the opportunity to win the Championship. The top four drivers in points going into the season finale, similar to NASCAR, will not only be racing for a race win, they will be racing for a Championship. Going into the final race of 2015 the top 4 in each class will become even and the highest finisher of the 4 will be crowned the Champion.
“Not only is this exciting for the fans but four teams and families in each class will know that their driver now has an equal chance to win a championship” states BMC Promoter Steven Partin “It made the final Sprint Cup race at Homestead-Miami Speedway very exciting and we want to bring that excitement to local Short Track racing along with allowing for a possible upset win”.

In 2014 nearly each championship was decided well before the final race was contested. With the new changes, all the focus will be on the final event of the year. Teams will also have a reason to not give up until the final lap of the season.

Modifieds, Hidden Gem Web Designs Sport Mods, Southern Ohio Lighting Mini-Sprints and Crazy Compact Championships will all now be decided under this new format style.

The Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Car Series will also adopt this format and will keep points at all touring races scheduled at the beginning of the year.

The season finale is tentatively scheduled for Saturday October 3rd, 2015.
