Atomic Speedway Readies For Atomic Blast

CHILLICOTHE, OHIO-With the demise of the NDRL (National Dirt Racing League), the Atomic Speedway near Chillicothe, Ohio will continue with a planned two-day show with no national sanction this coming weekend Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26. As is always the case at Atomic Speedway great racing will take place on the high banks of Ohio’s Fastest 3/8 mile dirt oval, plus a spectacular Fireworks display will highlight Saturday’s entertainment. This is an event the kids and young at heart won’t want to miss!

Despite not running under the NDRL banner, the prize money Owner Brad McCown is putting up once again is expected to lure some of the great names in racing. Many drivers on hand for Wednesday’s UMP National race expressed an interest in a return visit this weekend, along with other teams that already had the Atomic Blast weekend on their schedules.

Friday, the 410 Outlaw Sprint cars will be the headlining event paying $3,000 to win with Advanced Services AMRA Modifieds at $750 to win, Street Stocks, and Sports Mods. The one night admission stands at $15 adults, $13 Sr. Citizens and 12-under free. Pit passes are $30.

Saturday, the powerful Late Models return for a $5,000 to win show, the AMRA modifieds run for $1,000 to win, along with Street Stocks, Sport Mods, and an enduro. Admission for Saturday’s race and the world-renown fireworks display from Legendary Entertainment will be $20, $18 Sr’s., 12-under Free, and Pit Passes $35.

All arm bands, pre-sell tickets and reserved seats that have not been turned in or used previously as purchased for the NDRL Atomic Blast Weekend will still be honored for this event, July 25 and July 26.

McCown hopes to nurture the Atomic Blast to the status of the independently run “Freedom 40″ for sprint cars, coming up August 23. After the Atomic Blast weekend, the schedule reveals one of the best bargains in racing where two-headlining shows return-410 Sprints and AMRA Super Late Models on August 2. Also on the card this night are AMRA Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Sport Mods.

THE CIRCUS IS COMING TO ATOMIC SPEEDWAY ON MONDAY JULY 21st! Ticket prices at the Gate are $16 for Adults and $10 for kids. Shows will be at 4:30 and 7:30.
