Tyler County Speedway Release 2013 Schedule

(Middlebourne, WV) While the ink is still wet from a newly signed lease with the Tyler County Fair Association, the Hometown Racing Association is pleased to put together a high energy action packed slate of events for the 39th Season at the high banked quarter mile known simply as ‘the bullring’ to race fans across the U.S. A fan and driver friendly slate of events with a concerted effort on family fun and an efficiently ran program being of the utmost importance to the new promotional group. Our 2013 goal is to provide the absolute best entertainment value for the fan and a fast paced, safe and exciting venue for the areas finest racers at the Middlebourne, WV track.

Two open practice sessions on April 6th and 14th will greet eager racers looking to fine tune their hotrods and try out the totally new racing surface of the Bullring, as 200 loads of fresh clay will be laid down in anticipation of the 2013 campaign. Flagman Todd Gorrell’s green flag will officially waive for the first time on Saturday, April 20th as the 39th season of affordable family fun will kick off the summer excitement season.

The seasons first big show will see the roofs come off as the fans favorite and second oldest Topless Late Model event in the country will welcome the regions best to the ‘Bullring’ on Saturday Night, May 4th. A stellar field will duke it out for the 19th time in the annual Topless 50 where a who’s who have claimed victory in former years with a $3,000 first place prize up for grabs.

The first major camping weekend of the summer will see the Tyler County Fairgrounds fill up for the 2nd Annual Bullring Bonanza Fundraiser which will once again headline the Memorial Weekend, May 23-26. The most fan friendly event in motorsports will see the Tyler County Firefighters Association event offer ticket buyers with the deal of the season once again. A $100 ticket/donation will get you a ringside seat to 4 days of entertainment. See Justin Moore and Colt Ford in Concert, win new cars, trucks, atvs, campers, and lots of cold hard cash at the Mega-Drawing. Then head on down to the Bullring for the 2 day World of Outlaw Late Model series, FASTRAK Late Models and the Renegade of Dirt Modifieds in one of the biggest Modified shows in the country all while helping a worthy cause. The first Icon Memorial Tour will trek through the Mid-Ohio Valley as the high powered Super Late Models and the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour will rip up area dirt tracks at the Tyler County Speedway, Wayne County Speedway, Pittsburgh Motor Speedway and the West Virginia Motor Speedway. They are all excited to present the 1st Icon Memorial Tour, for four days honoring four of the sports icons. The week will kick off on Thursday, June 12 at the Tyler County Speedway for the running of the 25th Annual Earl Hill Memorial before the Tour heads to the Wayne County Speedway. Night 3 will have racers making their way up to the Miley’s Pittsburgh Motor Speedway as the Super Lates and Mods will hit the Monster ½ mile and the running of the 1st Herb Scott Memorial. Capping the 1st Icon Memorial Tour will see the areas best racers head to the newly configured “Speedplant” at West Virginia Motor Speedway and the Mark Balzano Memorial. Each Late Model event will pay $4,000 to win with each Renegade Modified show paying $1,200 to win.

Celebrate America’s Independence as the Tyler County Speedway will present the 4th of July Weekend doubleheader that will see a Thursday Night, July 4th running of the 12th Annual Eaton/Childers King of the Ring event with a unique Twin 25 format for the Super Late Models with the best average finisher being declared the ‘Bullrings’ “King of the Ring”. On Saturday, July 6th the Redneck Revival Festival of Mud will welcome Kill Devil Hills, NC’s very own Dennis Anderson and his behemoth Mud Truck “King Sling” to the Mudpit at the Tyler County Fairgrounds for a full day of Mud Bog excitement. A can’t miss event!

The Hometown Racing Association is pleased to launch a new Tyler County tradition in 2013 as the speedway will run the Inaugural Bud Weigle Memorial on Sunday Night, August 4th. Join us for a fitting tribute to the former speedway promoter and ambassador of Tyler County in celebration of the opening of 51st Annual Tyler County Fair festivities.

A fall September show will close out the season at the Bullring with the running of the EDGE ProBowl Weekend. Featuring a post season showdown culminating in season ending point battles in the EDGE Modified National Championship and the EDGE HotMods and the traditional Dickson Classic for Modifieds, plus a Super Late Model fall classic, FASTRAK Late Models, and ModLites will have the pit area packed at the ‘Bullring’ as we cap the season in fine fashion.

The Bullring will also feature past track favorite events such as the Tammy Clegg Tribute, Pat Herrick Memorial, Retro Race Night, and the Legends of the Ring Old Timers Reunion. Plus lots of family oriented events such as Family Feast Night where Kids Eat Free, 39th Bullring Birthday Bash Fan Appreciation Night, Kids Night, and Back to School Blowout with Family 4 Packs-4 Tix, 4 Drinks, 4 Dogs, 4 $40 Bucks being offered.

The FANtastic 5 weekly program will consist of Super Late Models, FASTRAK Late Models, EDGE Modifieds, joined by the EDGE HotMods, ModLites, and as always the MWRA Mini-wedges will open the show at the Bullring. Race nights also include the younger fans, as ‘Dusty’s Kids Club’ offers weekly activities for the kids. The new promotional group hasn’t forgotten the big kids, either. As the best weekly card in the Ohio Valley region provides more bang for the race fans hard earned buck and the Hometown Racing Association will look to offer family oriented programs at fan friendly prices, with adult general admission regularly priced at $12, and children 10 and below always free with a paid adult admission. Pit admission prices are $26 for all, while the gates will open at 4 pm on race nights, with hot laps @ 7 pm and the first race scheduled to see the green flag @ 7:30 p.m.
