(Mercer, PA November 27, 2016): The management of Mercer Raceway Park is busy putting together an exciting and diverse schedule for the 2017 season. The first piece of the puzzle has already been laid on the table. “We are pleased to announce that the Chiller Thriller will again feature the BRP Modified Tour,” said owner William Altman. “The Modifieds put on a great race for our fans, and our regulars in the 358 Modified divsion always look forward to the challenge of competing with the more powerful Big Blocks for bragging rights,” he added. The Chiller Thriller will be held on Saturday, March 25, so mark that date on your racing calendars. Other participating classes will be announced closer to the event date.

Negotiations are underway with a number of other sanctioning bodies for special events during the 2017 season, including the All Stars Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars, the B.O.S.S. Sprint Cars, the ULMS Late Models, and others.

Watch the website, www.mercerracewaypark.com, or your favorite media outlets, for more information as other scheduling announcements are made.

A tentative schedule will be presented at the Annual Awards Ceremony and Banquet to be held at Normandy Banquet Center, in Hermitage, on January 28, 2017.

“More importantly, let me put an end to the rumor that has been spreading throughout the racing community,” Altman added. “There WILL be Sprint Cars racing at Mercer Raceway Park in 2017.” Indeed, the cornerstone of the Saturday Night Live! racing programs will be the 410 Sprint Cars. And, extra winged car action will be provided by the popular Outlaw Sprint Warriors.
