22nd Annual Fred Dillow Memorial This Saturday At PRP
2 min readThis Saturday night at Portsmouth Raceway Park is a race that a lot of drivers and fans look forward to each year. The 22nd Annual Fred Dillow Memorial. As one driver put it, “it’s one of those races you put on your schedule each year and you want to win it.”
The race honors Fred Dillow, who was a late model driver from 1968 to 1989 and passed away of leukemia in 1990. Dillow was a well liked family man and racing was his passion.
The 40-lap Glockner.com / Keaton’s Collision Center super late model feature will pay $5,000 to win and the winner will also receive a provisional starting position in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series 48th Annual Hillbilly 100 at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV on September 4th, paying $25,000 to win and $1,000 to start. Bozo’s Just Give Me One Lap pays $1,077 for super late model fast time plus several other special awards.
This year’s UMP Modified feature, in Memory of Dale Buddha Lyons, pays $1,300 to win and the Thomas “TC” Childress Modified Fast Time is up to $350 and is subject to increase. The Giovanni’s Wholesale Limited Late Model Feature will pay $830 to win and the Bomber feature, sponsored by H&H Continuous Guttering, pays $600.
There are also several special awards up for grabs in all divisions and bonus money will be randomly placed throughout the field in all divisions on top of PRP’s regular purse. As always, Valvoline has provided some fantastic giveaways for drivers and fans, along with ASI Racewear, Gotta Race and Dirty Girl Racewear.
Admission Prices, which are PRP’s regular admission prices, are General Admission: Ages 6 and under free; Ages 7-12 $5; Ages 13 and up $12.
Pit Passes are $25 for all ages.
Gates open at 4:00 p.m., drivers meeting is at 6:00 p.m., hot laps begin at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. PRP Is The Place To Be this Saturday night for the 22nd Annual Fred Dillow Memorial!
