After a turbulent beginning to the month of June for the Legendary Hilltop Speedway, the track is prepared for an exciting night of racing this coming Friday night, (June 17th) with an evening of racing in all regular classes. The event which will mark the first regular night of racing in over a month for the Marietta Ohio track, is expected to see the same great racing excitement that fans and teams have grown accustomed to over the past number of seasons, as numerous competitors will battle for a mid-summer win.

Just one week removed from the conclusion of the River City Showdown, the track will look to move forward with their 2016 schedule focusing on the track’s weekly competitors and the exciting racing that they provide week in and week out. Last week’s AMRA Late Model feature had fans on the edge of their seats and has been the talk of the racing community over the past number of days, as the 25 lap feature event would see veteran Freddie Carpenter hold off son Chris Carpenter and regional star Corey Conley in a thrilling photo finish. The race clearly resonated with fans, as the feature race was very reminiscent to the Super Late Model racing that helped grow “The Top” to one of the premier racing venues within the Ohio Valley region over the past number of seasons.

With other major events going on this weekend within the region, track officials expect to see strong car counts as many local competitors will look to score valuable AMRA National points which are extra valuable following the amount of rain outs this spring. With other venues running limited amounts of classes, Legendary Hilltop also expects strong fields within their support classes, which have continued to provide excellent racing all season.

This Friday’s show will see gates open at 3 PM and a drivers meeting set for 6:45. The WRA Mini Wedges will take to the track at 7:05 and Hot Laps will follow their heats.
