Conneaut, OH (August 25, 2015): The seventeenth and final night of the 2015 season will be this Friday, August 28, at Raceway 7. All but Specialty Products Mini Stock champions have been decided with Chad Wright (Evergreen Lake Park Campground CARS Crate Late Models), Percy McDonald (Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods), Shaun Fawcett (Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks), and Rick Prosser (Bonnell’s Auto Sales Economods) winning championships for 2015. The Specialty Products Mini Stocks battle will go to the final week between 2013 champion Brad Cole, currently with a 23-point lead, and 2012 champion Bud Sergeff.

With nine feature wins over the season Chad Wright secured the championship with his win August 14. The defending champion, Kyle Zimmerman, will have to settle for second, only winning one feature during the season. Dennis Lunger is currently third in the standings but Billy Henry is only 58 points behind him in fourth and could gain the spot in the final event. Wendell Pinckney is fifth but only with a 9 point cushion over Breyton Santee.

Percy McDonald will score his second Bonnell Collision Center E-Mod championship. With four feature wins he holds a 134-point edge over three-time winner Ken Zimmer, who, in turn, enjoys a 70-point advantage over single winner Dan McDonald. Chuck Steinle Jr is only eight points behind Dan McDonald with four-time winner Brent Rhebergen only a single point behind Steinle.

The Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks have a first-time champion in Shaun Fawcett, who collected five feature wins on his way to his first-ever title. Ed Bolyard is a distant second with defending champion Chris Withers only five markers behind Bolyard. Bolyard has four feature wins while Withers has been shut out of the win column. Chris Hochschild, also winless with only one race remaining, is fourth with last week’s winner Rob Bates fifth.

The veteran Rick Prosser was a top E-Mod and Street Stock driver back in the 1990’s but retired for several years, coming back in the Bonnell Auto Sales Economods in 2013, winning features and then in 2015 winning the season championship over defending champion Josh Ferry. Eric Reinwald won his first-ever feature last Friday night and is currently third in the standings. Russ Kapalin, winless in ’15, is fourth, a mere six points ahead of the veteran Chuck Steinle Sr.

The Specialty Products Mini Stocks season championship will go right down to the final lap again in 2015 as 2013 champion Brad Cole holds a slim 23-point edge over 2012 champion Bud Sergeff. Both drivers are experienced in championship battles and both have won. This battle will be an exciting one for the fans and drivers alike. Sergeff has five feature wins this season while Cole has visited Victory Lane three times. Jason Easler also has three wins this season and is third in the rankings, 41 behind Sergeff. Two-time winner Hoyt Mihalak is fourth with defending champion Dale Fraschetti fifth.
