Penn Ohio Pro Stock Series To Race At Raceway 7 Friday
2 min readConneaut, OH (June 2, 2015): The Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series will make its second visit to Raceway 7 this coming Friday, June 5, for the second time in its two year history. Current championship points leader Rusty Martz will lead the charge of the invading series along with defending champion Chris Schneider. Local drivers Chris Withers, the winner of this event in 2014, and Shaun Fawcett, also a series winner last summer, will be among the favorites to prevent the invaders from walking off with the first place purse of $500. Brandon Groters won his first Raceway 7 feature earlier in the season and now has three wins on the season and leads the season points chase. Shaun Fawcett is second in the current points standings with Withers, the defending track champion, third. The other two wins in 2015 belong to Fawcett.
All regular divisions will be in action along with the featured Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stocks.
The Evergreen Lake Park Campground Crate Late Models are currently being led by former champion Chad Wright, who has dominated the 2015 season, rolling up four feature wins in five weeks of racing. 2009 champion Dennis Lunger is second, a distant 60-points back with defending champion Kyle Zimmerman currently third, two more points in arrears of Lunger.
The Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods are currently led by 2009 champion Percy McDonald on the strength of two wins in the first two weeks of the season. Ken Zimmer, another two time winner this season, is second with veteran competitor Chuck Steinle Jr currently third. Defending champion Josh Ferry started his season with two wins in the first two weeks in the Bonnell’s Auto Sales Economods but has been overtaken by Rick Prosser for the lead. Prosser has but one win this season thus far but has been more consistently near the front with three second place finishes. Russ Kapalin is third without a win thus far in the season. The last two weeks have been dominated by Jace Ferringer, scoring his first Raceway 7 triumph May 22, then backing it up last week with another win.
Former champion Brad Cole leads the Specialty Products Mini Stocks with a 30-point edge over defending champion Dale Fraschetti. Fraschetti has two wins on the season with Cole having just one early season victory. Mitch a Stokes, still looking for his first 2015 win, is third at this time by a single point over Jason Easler. Other feature winners have been Casey Harmon and opening night winner Hoyt Mihalak.
Weather permitting, gates open every Friday at 5:30 PM with pill draw cut off at 7 PM and racing at 7:30 PM. VIP suites are available for rental for $250 a night which includes eight general admissions passes. Admission is set for $10 for adults for this special, kids 7-14 are $5.
