Conneaut, OH (June 9, 2014): The Penn Ohio Street Stock Series was begun this season and will be traveling to several tracks over the course of the summer with Raceway 7 hosting them this Friday, June 13. The feature this week will be in memory of Tom Wellner, crew chief of popular driver Shaun Fawcett, who passed away May 22, 2013 and is sadly missed by all. The Conneaut Telephone Company has added an additional $300 to the announced $500 first place purse and also the series will give a $200 bonus to the winner contingent with being registered with the series. The race will start with a four-wide salute to honor Wellner. It is expected to be the biggest event for the Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks this season. Defending champion Chris Withers currently holds the point lead but by a scant three markers over former champion Ed Bolyard. Jimmy Kennerknecht currently holds down the third spot. Points will not be awarded for this special event where the rules will allow for cars from tracks running a different rules package to compete without having to conform to Raceway 7’s rules.

The Evergreen Lake Park Campground Crate Late Models will also contest a regular card of events. Defending champion Chad Wright, winner of one feature, leads the field with last week’s winner Matt Latta currently second, four points back. Darrell Bossard, winner May 30, is only nine points out of the lead.

The Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods are currently headed by defending champion Joel Watson, winner of one feature. Watson leads last week’s winner Gary Eicher by 24 points. Eicher, in turn, has another 21 point cushion on third-running Mike Potosky, winless thus far in the season.

With two wins in 2014 Steve Burns leads the Zimmer Service Center Economods points chase over Ty Rhoades by 34-markers. Double winner Josh Ferry runs third at this time only one point back of Rgoades. Ferry experienced mechanical gremlins last week and was unable to start the feature, costing him valuable points.

With his first ever win coming last week, Dale Fraschetti leads the way in the Specialty Products Mini Stocks season points by four points over Jason Easler and 2012 Champion Bud Sergeff, another 9 points back of Easler.
