Patriot Sprint Tour Returns To Raceway 7 This Friday

Conneaut, OH (May 27, 2014): Friday May 30 will see the return of winged sprinters to Raceway 7 when the Patriot Sprint Tour makes their second visit to the northeast OH speedplant. The first-ever visit was won by the 2013 points champion Jared Zimbardi of Little Valley, NY. Zimbardi is defending his title this season against past champion Bryan Howland, driver of the only Ford-powered sprinter on the tour, and phenomenal young driver Paige Polyak, who became only the second female driver to win a Patriot A-Main in the history of the tour at only 19 years old last Sunday at Eriez.

All regular classes will compete with the Evergreen Lake Park Campground Crate Late Models points leader leading the charge. Lunger, the 2009 champion has a razor-thin edge of only two points over defending champion Chad Wright. Both champions already have wins in 2014. Darrell Bossard is currently third.

Last week saw third-year, third-generation driver Josh McDonald ran a flawless Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods race to capture his first-ever feature win over many-time track champion Joel Watson and vaulted to third in the season standings behind defending champion Watson and 2009 champion Percy McDonald, who won the opening night feature.

Chris Withers is defending his Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks championship by leading the current season points after only two weeks of racing by only two points over past champion Ed Bolyard. Both champions have a win already in the young season with Jimmy Kennerknecht currently third.

Young Josh Ferry entered Victory Lane for the first time on his career last Friday in the Zimmer Service Center Economods feature, culminating a steadily improving career that now sees him atop the season long championship chase. Opening night winner Steve Burns is currently second with Josh Mueller is third.

Past champions Bud Sergeff and Carlos Aponte both already have wins in the current season. Sergeff has a eighteen point margin over Jason Easler with Aponte another nineteen points behind in third for the Specialty Products Mini Stocks championship.

Weather permitting, gates open every Friday at 5:30 PM with pill draw cut off at 7 PM and racing at 7:30 PM. VIP suites are available for rental for $250 a night which includes eight general admissions passes. Admission is set for $15 for adults for this special event, kids 7-14 are $5.
