RACINE, OHIO-Ohio Valley Speedway Lubeck, WV-One of the most revelled tracks in the American Motor Racing Association family is the Ohio Valley Speedway near Lubeck, West Virginia on the outskirts of auto racing hotbed Parkersburg, West Virginia. OVS will open its gates on April 5, 2014. Ohio Valley Speedway has been in operaton for over 60 years, ten of which have come most recently under the reign of Everett Vincent and Wayne McPeek and families. The track will hold a 10th anniversary special sometime in August, marking the recent involvement of these dedicated racing families.

OVS has cancelled its test and tune for this coming Saturday.

The Valley will use transponders in 2014 and will have permanent scales installed in the infield; According to race announcer Gerry Loudin OVS will have a Hillbilly 100 qualifier June 7, and several two-day shows connected with I77. Weekly OVS races: AMRA Late Models – AMRA Modifieds – Pure Stocks – 4 Cylinder FWDs – Mini-Wedges.

“We also are hoping to do something special for our 150th show under the current management (we’re at 137 right now), as well as some sort of 10th anniversary celebration,” said Loudin. “This staff held its first race in late August, 2004. It is hard to believe it’s been that long. A lot of great racing has taken place in that time.”

The Ohio Valley Speedway has seen some of the greatest names in racing from its early beginnings and the success of Lightning Larry Dickson to the early beginnings of the World of Outlaw sprints and the original All-Star Circuit of Champion Late Models. OVS under the management of the Everett Vincent family and Wayne McPeek have given new life to this history rich, high-speed, paper-clip style 3/8 mile red clay oval.

High speeds and close racing are the trademark for Ohio Valley, located off Rt. 68 near Parkersburg, just South of Lubeck, WV.

“A lot of work has gone into making this a place racers and race fans can be proud of,” said Scott Wolfe, AMRA President. “Once again, the AMRA is proud to be associated with Ohio Valley Speedway.”

OVS has expanded its pit area and improved the parking area, while adding new sections of modern seating and a state of the art lighting system. Safety improvements over the years include a new catch fence and guardrail among the many, many improvements this aggressive management team has implemented.
