Ohio Valley Speedway Welcomes Racers & Fans For 65th Annual Season Opener
3 min readWashington, W.Va. (April 8, 2023) – Last night welcomed over 75 cars and hundreds of fans back to Ohio Valley Speedway for the 65th Annual Season Opener. Picking up Season Opener wins, and visiting the KMA Auto Victory Lane, were Tyler Carpenter, Coleman Evans, Brandon Francis, Jacob McDaniel, Joey Miller and Bryson Long.
Valley fans were greeted with a number of track improvements, including: a new family-friendly concession menu, an Ice Cream Parlor, additional gravel in the parking lot and midway, flagpoles behind the grandstand, an improved PA system, and more.
With Easter around the corner, the Easter Bunny hopped on over to The Valley to greet the fans and to host an Easter Egg hunt for children under 10. Children found a variety of goodies in their eggs including candy, bracelets, stickers, pop-its, free goodies from the Ice Cream Parlor, and gold coins that could be redeemed for water balloon kits.
Jumping into racing actions, the Mike’s Auto Body WRA Mini Wedges were the first to hit the track for the 2023 Season. Bringing home the first win of the 65th Season included Bryson Long in the Young Guns class and Joey Miller in the Veteran class.
Tyler Carpenter parked his Kryptonite Racecar Late Model in the KMA Auto Victory Lane, after a last minute change of plans with the Bristol Motor Speedway Weather Guard Truck Race on Dirt, allowed him to be in town. Carpenter will be competing this evening in this event — good luck from Ohio Valley Speedway!
In the Polymer Services UMP Modified Feature, Coleman Evans made a last minute pass over Kyle Bond with just two laps to go to take the feature win. Brandon Francis brought home the win in the Polymer Services UMP Modified Feature, and Jacob McDaniel parked it in Victory Lane for the Bill’s Auto Salvage SCDRA 4 Cylinder Feature.
Next week, Ohio Valley Speedway will be presenting a regular show. For a full list of events, please visit Ohio Valley Speedway on Facebook or visit raceovs.com.
