30K Up For Grabs For ULMS During Labor Day Weekend
4 min readLabor Day weekend is up next for the Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Late Model Series and there is huge money on the line over the three day weekend. It all starts on Friday, September 2nd at Bedford Speedway with the annual Labor Day 55 paying $12,055 to the winner. On Saturday, September 3rd the series head to Port Royal Speedway for the 19th annual Butch Renninger Memorial paying $7,333 to the winner in the 33 lap event and the conclusion of the weekend will be at Selinsgrove Speedway for the Ron Keister Memorial makeup paying $11,052 to win.
Friday night at Bedford Speedway, Joe Padula welcomes back the ULMS Late Model Series for the fourth year in a row for the Labor Day 55. Past three ULMS Labor Day 55 winners have been Rick Eckert in 2019, Mason Zeigler in 2020 and Michael Norris found victory lane last year. Each of the 3 events have supplied over 35 cars the past three years and another quality field of cars are expected to be on hand.
ULMS will be led by 2015 series champion and current point leader, Jared Miley. Joining Miley will be Six time winner of 2022 ULMS season, Gregg Satterlee, Dave Stamm,, Eckert, and Danny Snyder. Others expected to be on hand are track regulars, Jeff Rine, Chuck Clise, Nathan Lasalle and Tim Smith. Regional stars, Norris, Alex Ferree, Matt Cosner, Dan Stone and many others will be on hand for the big paying event that pays $1200 for tenth and $700 to start Friday night.

Friday Night, gates open at 5:00pm with warmups at 7:00 and Integra Shock Qualifying at 7:30PM.. The Labor Day 55 Purse $12,000, 4800, 3000, 2500, 2000, 1500, 1400, 1300 , 1200, 1150, 1100, 1000, 900, 875, 850, 825, 800 775, 750, 725, 700 (20th – 25th).
Saturday at Port Royal Speedway will see the 19th annual Butch Renninger Memorial paying $7,333 to win for the 33 lap event in honor and memory of the legendary Butch Renninger, who sits fourth on the all-time winners list in the Super Late model division with 41 career victories and three track championships to his name. Renninger also served diligently on the board of the speedway for decades and oversaw track preparation and concessions during that time.
The Renninger family has put up extra money for the event every year and this year is no different.
Each qualifying heat event will pay $133 to the winner courtesy of Tedd Reitz, along with $133 Hard Luck Award courtesy of Gullwing Aviation LLC and $333 will be awarded in the overall fast time in the ULMS Integra Shocks Qualifying courtesy of Barrons Racing Engines. Minium Napa Auto Parts will give $333 to the hard charger of the event and they will also give $50 to the second place finisher in each heat event.
This will be the fifth year that the Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Late Model Series kicks off the 168th annual Juanita County Fair at Port Royal Speedway with the Butch Renninger Memorial with past winners, Tyler, Bare, Max Blair, Mason Zeigler, Gregg Satterlee winning. ULMS averages a healthy car count in the low and mid 40s in its history of the series and this event is expected to see another healthy and quality field of entries.
Joining the ULMS top cars of Miley, Satterlee, Stamm, Eckert and Snyder will be Port Royal’s top cars which includes Colton Flinner, Gary Stuhler, Rine, Chad Myers, Dylan Yoder and many others. Satterlee has won the last five ULMS events at Port Royal Speedway dating back to 2020.
On Sunday the series head to Selinsgrove Speedway as the series makes its second visit of the season. The 25 lap event in Honor of Ron Keister will pay $11,052 to the winner and it pay $400 to start. Friends and family of the late Ron Keister along with Big Wrangler Ranch and Arto of Living Design added over $4000 to the top of the purse that originally was paying $6500 to win.
Rine won the event in 2020 and last year’s ULMS event was cancelled due to weather. Bryan Bernheisel currently leads Andrew Yoder and Rine in the track points. Those three hot shoes will be joined by Miley, Satterlee, Stamm, Eckert, Snyder along with Jim Bernheisel, Stone, Dylan Yoder and several others.
Gates open at 4PM with Integra Shock Qualifying beginning at 7PM. Selinsgrove Speedway ULMS Purse:

ULMS Racing Series normal procedures will be in place for both days which includes hot laps and Integra Shocks time trials, minimum 8 lap qualifying heat events, consolation events, Jay’s Auto Wrecking Redraw and the main event. Time Trials per ULMS rules will be the following: 3 heats or less will be straight up; 4 heats will result in A&B group qualifying. The ULMS Late Model Series tire rule is Hoosier 1300 or American Racer 44 or harder on all 4 corners. All three tracks utilize the Mylaps / AMB transponder system for all scoring and timing. Entry Fee for each event is $50.
