Dave Murdick Wins BRP Modified Tour event at Expo Speedway

Marble, PA……..A beautiful sunny day greeted the fans for the running of the BRP Modified Tour event at the Expo Speedway which was held at the Trumball County Fairgrounds during fair week this past Thursday evening.

Dave Murdick and Rick Richner brought the 25 car field to the green flags with Murdick jumping into the lead on the first lap. Murdick held that lead through lap nine when Rex King, Jr. took over the lead, but Murdick was able to get that lead back the next lap. On lap thirteen the first caution flag waved for Jim Rasey who slowed on the speedway. On the restart, Murdick was able to extend his distance over Rex King, Jr. as Jeremiah Shingledecker was closing in on King for third.

The race was slowed again on lap 15 for Ron Cartwright, Jr. who also slowed on the speedway. On the restart it was all Murdick with Rex King, Jr. in second until lap twenty six when King’s car shredded a right rear tire bringing out the final caution of the event.

Chad Brachmann made his way into the second position on the restart, but Brad Rapp worked past Brachmann for second two laps later. Dave Murdick went on to pick up the $1,500 winners check with Brad Rapp finishing second. Third place went to Jeremiah Shingledecker with Rex King, Sr. coming home in fourth after starting at the rear of the field twice during the event. Fifth place went to Rick Richner.

Sixth through tenth went to Kevin Hoffman, Chad Brachmann, Mark Frankhouser, Joe Kubiniec and Eric Gabany.

The BRP Modified Tour will be at Wayne County Speedway in Friday, July 19th for their first visit back in ten years.
