The Pennsylvania and Ohio border dirt late model season kicks off this weekend and the Zimmer’s Service Center United Late Model Series highlight the weekend with the track openers for Dog Hollow Speedway and Sharon Speedway on Friday and Saturday with a pair of $3,500 to win events.

Friday night will see the 2022 season opener for Dog Hollow Speedway. This will be the first of four ULMS events at Dog Hollow in 2022. The ULMS Late Models have made numerous appearances at the Northern Cambria oval over the past several years. The last visit was last September where Virginia’s Kyle Hardy found victory lane. In the last six appearances Max Blair has won two with Michael Lake and Kyle Hardy winning in 2018 and last year, with Alex Ferree in 2017 and Sam Stile winning in 2012. Blair is also the track record holder at Dog Hollow Speedway. In the 2019 ULMS race Blair broke Josh Richards track record of 16.782 with a new time of 16.137.

The season opening event should see a stellar field of cars on hand as many western Pennsylvania teams have been waiting for the season to begin in the region. Dog Hollow drivers we are expecting to be on hand to defend their home turf are Dave Blazavich, Michael Lake, who has a ULMS win at Dog Hollow in the past, Del Rougeux, John Wayne Weaver, Billy Eash, Dan Angelicchio, Ryan Christoff and Clinton Hersh.

On Saturday the series will head to Sharon Speedway for their one and only event of the year at Sharon Speedway. Michael Norris of Sarver won last years ULMS event over 2015 series champion Jared Miley and former four time champion Max Blair. Past ULMS winners at Sharon Speedway have been Davey Johnson, Mike Knight, Boom Briggs and Max Blair.

A quality field of cars are expected for the two events including current series point leader, Gregg Satterlee, Miley, current 2022 Chew on This Jerky Rookie of Year point leader, Colton Flinner, Dave Stamm, last years Chew on This Jerky Rookie of Year champion, Deshawn Gingerich along with other western Pennsylvania region stars such as 2016 and 2017 series champion, Dave Hess Jr., Ryan Montgomery, 2020 Chew on This Jerky Rookie of Year champion, Wyatt Scott along with Ryan Scott, Logan Zarin, Greg Oakes, Alex Ferree and Ohio drivers Ryan Missler, Jr Gentry and many others.
