Conneaut, OH, (July 9, 2013): With the rain-out last week several items will be on tap this Friday at Raceway 7 including a giant display of Fireworks by Gibson during intermission. The Specialty Products Mini Stocks will have their rained-out special paying $300 to win and the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods will be racing for an $800 to win event.
The Evergreen Lake Park Campground FASTRAK Late Models standings show Chad Wright holding a 77 point edge over Dave Airgood. Dennis Lunger, a former class champion, currently holds third. All three have feature wins in 2013; Lunger’s coming on opening night, Airgood’s in a FASTRAL Northeast Touring event. Wright has two wins this season.
Defending champion Joel Watson moved back to the top of the standings in the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mod championship standings with his win two weeks ago, his second of the season. Mike Potosky holds onto second, 17-points back with the veteran Bill Taylor third, another 47-points back.
The Western Reserve Animal Clinic Street Stocks standings have Chris Withers leading the way with an 18-point advantage over Ed Bolyard. Both are former champions. Eric Reinwald, who won his first-ever feature race on June 21, currently is third, 51-points behind the runner-up.
Russ Kapalin, a former Street Stock driver, leads the McDonalds Meats Economod standing by fifteen markers over Chuck Steinle Sr, a long time veteran of local racing. Jace Ferringer and Brian Hathaway, a two-time winner this season, are tied for third, 55-points behind Steinle.
Specialty Products Mini Stock defending track champion Bud Sergeff started out his title defense with a win back on opening night then had a series of misfortunes including mechanical failure on the final lap while leading on the feature on June 21. Two weeks week Sergeff apparently shook his bad luck and drove to a convincing win. However, point’s leader Brad Cole, a winner earlier this season, holds a 14 point lead in the standings over rookie Dale Fraschetti, who in turn, holds an eight point edge over Sergeff. Jason Easler, also a winner this season, is fourth, eleven points behind Sergeff and Rookie Hoyt Mihalak is currently fifth.
