RUSH Sprints, Modifieds, Crate Late Models Plus Vintage Mods Race At Raceway 7 This Friday
3 min readConneaut, OH (June 12, 2019) — Friday night will feature three classes of RUSH-sanctioned racing plus the Thunder on the Dirt Vintage Modified Series plus the weekly E-Mods and Mini Stock programs of heats and features.
The Evergreen Lake Park Campground RUSH Late Model Series Raceway 7 points show defending champion Darrell Bossard with a twenty point lead in the season standings over second-running Breyton Santee, last week’s winner. Bossard has not yet won a feature this season. Third is Kyle Zimmerman, the 2017 champion. Zimmerman was the winner May 24th. Opening night and May 31st winner Matt Latta is currently fourth, despite missing last week’s event, only 35-points out of the lead. Bruce Hordusky Jr is fifth only four points behind Latta. Hordusky’s best finish this season is a pair of seconds.
The RUSH Sprints will make their only appearance at Raceway 7 this season. The division was just started last year and was dominated by Chad Ruhlman its fifteen wins and two seconds in seventeen starts! Of course, with a record like that he was the points champion. Ruhlman had also been the 2014 RUSH Late Model National Weekly Series Champion.
The 2018 RUSH Modifieds champion was Garrett Krummert with seven wins on the season and 22 top five finishes in 26 starts. For the 2019 season Rob Kristyak is the current points leader after three events with a slim six point margin over Kole Holden.
The Dirt Vintage Modified racers will be at the track for a program of heats and features with local driver Gary Haupt a favorite to win.
The Bonnell’s Collision Center E-Mods points currently show May 24th and last week’s winner, Gary Eicher, the 2017 champion, with a solid 33-point margin over Mike Kinney, winner on opening night, May 17. Kinney holds a slim 6-point edge over Casey Bowers, whose best finish this season is a pair of seconds. The defending class champion, Troy Johnson, is currently fourth, another nineteen points back with Dan McDonald fifth, only four points behind Johnson. Last week’s winner, Dennis Lunger, in another eight markers out of the top five.
The Sunnyside Farm Transit Mini Stocks will also be in competition for a regular card of heats and a feature. Mark Lawrence is the points leader at the current date with a 38-point margin over defending champion Dillon Speer. Speer has one win this season, that coming May 31. Seven points behind Speer is Jim Haefke third with Zack Eller fourth, another 37-points back, and Emily Stoyer and opening night winner Pete Blaczak, tied for fifth, yet another 14-points behind Eller.

Raceway 7 is located six miles south of Interstate 90 on Route 7 in the town of Monroe Center, OH and races every Friday night May — September. Racing begins at 7:30 PM every Friday. General admission for regular events is $10 and children 7-14 admitted for $5 each. Kids 6 and under are always free. NO PETS are admitted to the track! Fan and pit gates open at 5:30 PM. Pit admission is $25 with minimum age 18. Children under 18 admitted with a “Minor Release” form available at pit gate that must be filled out by a parent accompanying the youth.
