American Ethanol Tour Events At Atomic Speedway Cancelled
2 min readLake Odessa, MI (Friday, May 3, 2019) – Officials from Atomic Speedway and the American Ethanol Late Model & Modified Tours have mutually agreed to cancel the American Ethanol Late Model Tour events at Atomic Speedway scheduled for Saturday, May 11th and Saturday, October 12th, along with the American Ethanol Modified Tour event also scheduled on Saturday, October 12th. The cancellation is due to lack of support from participants, resulting from complications with Late Model tire rules and DIRTcar UMP National Points.
Atomic Speedway and the American Ethanol Late Model Tour (AELMT) utilize different tire rules. Unfortunately, Officials were unable to present a tire rule that satisfied racers from both the north and racers that support Atomic Speedway on a weekly basis.
A statement made earlier this week, by DIRTcar UMP representatives, informing teams and officials that the event would no longer be considered a UMP National Points event, amplified the situation, triggering more race teams to withdraw from the event.
Atomic Speedway and AELMT Officials are not confident they can achieve acceptable car count and agree it would be unacceptable to go forward with the race, knowing the potential of having a show that would not meet the race fan’s expectations.
AELMT Officials speak highly of Atomic Speedway’s program and encourage AELMT fans to visit the venue for some of their other big events, like the 11th Annual Dan Reno Memorial featuring Impact Race Gear Late Models for $2,022 to win, Casto’s Auto Repair UMP Modifieds for $1,222, and C-M Racing Equipment Sport Mods for $822 to win. Likewise, Atomic Speedway officials encourage their fans to attend a nearby AELMT event, like the one on Friday, May 10th at Attica Raceway Park featuring a $4,000 to win event..
The American Ethanol Late Model Tour and American Ethanol Modified Tour Presented by Allstar Performance Championship event will be rescheduled, the date and venue is to be determined and will be announced in the near future.
Atomic Speedway and American Ethanol Touring Officials thank you for your continued support.
