Dawn Of A New Season Awaits Fans & Racers At America’s Baddest Bullring

(Middlebourne, WV) After a long and cold winter, the groundhog has spoke and March has roared in like a lion it can only mean one thing, spring and another race season at Tyler County Speedway is right around the corner.

Coming off another highly successful season at the helm for the Hometown Racing Association, the promoters of the ¼ mile ‘bullring’ in Middlebourne, West Virginia put the wraps on a monumental season. A season that featured tremendous racing action, great car counts, more speedway improvements and culminated in Evans, Georgia’s Brandon Overtons impressive run to lay claim to the richest payday in Tyler County Speedway history by pocketing the 2018 $50,000 to win Hillbilly 100.

What’s in store for 2019? If history is any indication racers and fans can expect much of the same insane racing action featuring the best racers in the nation at some of the biggest events on the East Coast.

Lucas Oil Dirt Car Series Invades Not Once But Twice: Not only will the Lucas Oil Dirt Car Series invade Tyler County Speedway for the 51st Annual $30,000 to win Hillbilly 100 on Labor Day weekend but in 2019 the best in the biz will make a second stop for the 25th Annual Topless 50. See Scott Bloomquist, Jimmy Owens, Josh Richards, Jonathan Davenport, Tyler Erb, Earl Pearson Jr., Don and Hudson O’Neal and many more remove their tops in the traditional running of the 2nd oldest Topless Late Model race in America. Always a fan favorite, the 25th edition of the Topless 50 will take the green flag on Friday Night, July 5th as part of the Lucas Oil Dirt Car Series Independence Weekend swing thru Ohio.

Continuing Speedway Upgrades: Since taking over promoting the ‘Bullring’, the Hometown Racing Association has continually upgraded the facility year after year. From all new electrical work throughout the facility, upgraded lighting, new Picnic Shelter, Pit Tower, Press Box, VIP Suite and Handicap Area and now thanks to Deepwell Energy Services a long overdue project of three rows of brand new guardrail is being installed around the ¼ mile ‘Bullring’.

Return of the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour: After a couple year hiatus the ‘Most Wanted’ Modifieds on the planet…..the Renegades of Dirt Mod Tour is back bigger and better than ever. The boys are back is the popular mantra in 2019 as the Renegades sweep across the East Coast with three stops at Tyler County Speedway including the 8th Annual Let it Ride 55 on April 6th, the lucrative 3 day Mega 100 weekend May 30-June 1st paying $15,000 to win and the 15th Annual Dickson Classic paying $2,000 to win Friday Night, July 5th as part of the Lucas Oil Topless 50. Be sure to catch the Renegades this summer at America’s Baddest Bullring and other speedways throughout the region.

Bullring Bombers Debut: Looking to get in the game at an affordable cost? The Bullring Bombers may be just the ticket and get you in the fast lane to victory lane. The 2019 racing season will usher in a new economical division of grass roots race cars to the fastest quarter mile in the Mountain State. The emphasis of the class will be affordable fun with the thrills of competition.

The class will require either 4 or 6-cylinder front wheel drive passenger cars with little to no modifications allowed. Safety features included in rules are Insurance mandated and considered nationwide minimal standards for any class in competition. Free pit admission for participants with ‘Hard Luck’, ‘Hard Charger’ ‘4Front’ and the ‘Three Wide Finish’ bonuses for class competitors will ratchet up the excitement and entertainment level for all. Claiming rules will also be in effect to ensure that driving and mechanical skill instead of wallet size will determine the ‘Bomber Boss’.

Monster Truck Show Returns: After a five year absence the Monsters of the Monster Truck Racing League will invade once again on Saturday Night, June 22nd. Bring the kids out to the speedway for a fun filled evening of car crushing mayhem. A ride truck, pre-race pit party and wild Monster Truck wheelies, racing, freestyle competition and car crushing excitement will thrill all ages.

The 2019 season all gets underway on Saturday, March 23rd when the gates open for the annual Test N’ Tune & Joe Dirt 100 Enduro event. Join us as local racers hit the highbanks for the first time to shake down their new 2019 rides for the upcoming season. Plus catch the wild and exciting running of the $500 to win Joe Dirt 100 Enduro race. Gates open at noon with practice getting underway from 1-4pm and the Joe Dirt 100 taking the green at 4:30, general admission is just $5 with pit pricing at $20.

The 45th Annual Season Opener will roll off on Saturday Night, March 30th with racing in the Super Late Models, FASTRAK Late Models, UMP Modifieds, EDGE Hotmods, Modlites, Bullring Bombers and MWRA Mini Wedges.
