For the fourth year in a row on the Sunday of Labor Day Week end, NAPA Jani Auto Parts Wayne County Speedway, will host Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champion Sprint cars for the $10,000 to win Pete Jacobs Memorial. Caleb Helms was the winner last year while Sheldon Haudenschild won the two previous years.
As the traveling series season winds down, Aaron Reutzel and Carson Macedo, both in their first year of racing full time with the All Stars, sit atop of the ASCoC standings with Reutzel on top by just 42 markers over Macedo. Chad Kemenah, who is a multi time All Star champ and a couple of Wayne County Speedway championships back in the ’90’s in his resume, is third in the standing, only 68 behind going into this week ends action.
In the last seven ASCoC races at ‘Orrville’s Historic Oval’, there have been six different winners with only Kyle Larson having two wins, both of them during the Speedweek races the last two years. Along with Helms, Tim Shaffer, Christopher Bell, Joey Saldana and Sheldon Haudenschild have held the checkered flag. Saldana and Haudenschild each have 5 All Star wins to lead the winners list at Wayne County Speedway, which has held 62 ASCoC races.
Wayne County Speedway welcomes NAPA Jani Auto Parts and Spherion Mid Ohio for their partnership in this weeks racing action.
Joining the All Stars will be the CorBon Super Stocks and McKenzie Concrete will add to the purse to make it a $1,000 to win for the highly competitive Super Stocks as seven different drivers have found victory lane this season including Bob Daugherty, Paul Holmes, Matt Shroyer, Larry Baldwin, T A Perrine Mike Rose and John Wilson.
The gates will open at 3 pm as hot laps and qualifying will begin at 6 pm with racing at 7 pm.
