Lake, Copeman, Waltman & Borawiec Win At Dog Hollow Before Rain Halts Show

STRONGSTOWN, PA (June 16, 2018) – Michael Lake, of Uniontown, won his second Townsend Gas & Oil Super Late Model feature Saturday night at Dog Hollow Speedway. Greensburg’s Clate Copeman also won for the second time this season in the RUSH Crate Late Models. Rich Waltman, Jr. won for the first time in the AMSOIL Pure Stocks while Brian Borawiec, Jr. won the 270cc Micro Sprint Special. The DM Craig Fabrication & Welding 4 Cylinders and 358 Semi Late feature were halted by rain and will be made up in the following weeks.

Amber Mills took off at the start of the 15-lap AMSOIL Pure Stock feature. The young lady led the first six laps before heading pit side. This turned the lead over to Rich Waltman, Jr. Waltman was able to hold of Nate Smith, who was piloting Duke Davidson’s 81. It was Waltman’s first-ever win at DHS. Following the pair at the finish were Mike Benton, Sam McAdams and Marc Whetstone. Ron Benton and McAdams were the heat winners.

Todd Reusser took command at the drop of the green in the 20-lap 270cc Micro Sprint Special. Reusser led four laps as sixth starting Brian Borawiec, Jr. worked his way to the front. Borawiec took over the lead spot on lap five and led the final 16 laps to take his second career win at the Pound. Todd Reusser, Chase Metheney, Ryan Beatty, Brandon Fredericks, JT Horwat, Scott Hawkins, David Hawkins, Noah Wirginis and Tom Morell were the top ten. Taking the heat wins were Borawiec and Beatty.

Michael Lake led all 25-laps to score his second Townsend Gas & Oil Super Late Model feature of the season. Doug Glessner chased Lake all 25 laps and settled for second over Scott Stein, Jon Lee and Jerry Redden. Sixth through tenth were Dave Blazavich, Derek Stefanick, John Wayne Weaver, John Oaks and Sam Gindlesperger. Lee and Lake were heat winners.

The caution filled RUSH Crate Late Model feature found Paul Ivory the initial leader. Ivory led four laps until Clate Copeman took over at the point. Copeman held off the advances of Joe Moyer and Mike Laughard to score his second win of the season. Laughard was second ahead of Moyer, Colin Casale, Troy Shields, John Britsky, Paul Ivory, Chris Frank, Brandon Lott and Andrew Koenig. Moyer and Tim Snare took the heat wins.

The DM Craig Fabrication & Welding 4 Cylinders and 358 Semi Late features were cancelled after a rain storm hit the track. Jack Theys, Chuck Dizzle and Kolton Wagner won the 4 Cylinder heats while Jon Lee won the lone 358 heat. Those features will be made up in the following weeks.
