Frazier, Thomas & Jett Score Big At Bullring

After Mother Nature didn’t want to play nice postponing the 3 day 4th Annual Mega 100 weekend to June 28-30 the Hometown Racing Association would roll off a regular show to sooth race fans pains. Picking up their second wins of the season were Kyle Thomas, Troy Frazier, Shawn Jett, Josh Baldwin, Kevin Criswell and Tripp Perine while Paul Baker would snare his first of the season and Luke Hyre would claim his third in a row.

A healthy 18 car Appalachian Mineral Title Company FASTRAK Late Model main even would see a determined Troy Frazier blast from his front row starting spot and manage to turn back all challengers as the ‘Mad Mexican’ would pick up his second win of the season. The Mount Clare, WV racer piloting the zero machine would hold off veteran Donnie Dotson, Kyle Lukon, newcomer Billy Beachler and last weeks winner Trey Watson to the stripe.

A scant field of J&R Excavating Super Late Models would see current point leader Kyle Thomas of Pennsboro, WV aboard the Powell & Son Farm, Thomas & AJ Logging, Dodds Sporting Goods, State Farm Slicks, Kryptonite chassis would roll to win #2 on the season. Following the speedy Thomas was Brian Baumberger, Steve Weigle, Chuck Kimble and Tyler Jones.

2017 defending track champion, Shawn Jett of Salem, WV would blister the 2 Brothers Motorsports AMRA Modified field. The driver of the sharp looking blue/white #1J had his machine set on go and looks to be a real contender when the best modified racers in the country invade for the 4th Annual Mega 100 on June 28-30. Following Jett across the line was current AMRA National Point Leader Kyle Bond, Chris Basich, Cody Brightwell and veteran Larry Bond.

Picking up his first win of the 2018 season in the Sigler Fabrication EDGE Hotmod division presented by Poske Performance Parts was Middlebourne, WV’s Paul Baker driver of the sharp looking 8x. Baker would hold off last weeks winner Travis Thomas, Steve Magyar, Roland Bell and Jordan Shaffer making his first maiden voyage in 2018.

In the Jenkins Auto Parts Modlite division it was perennial winner and fresh off his Pat Herrick Memorial win Josh Baldwin laying claim to his second win of the season. The Beallsville, Ohio racer drives the Saffell Trucking/ J&T Paving/ K&F Excavating Evolution racecar and would best Mitch Ward, Ryan Saffell, Daniel Eddy and John Cogar to the line.

A whoa nelly Sport Compact race would see a wild one ensue between Kevin Criswell and Bill Tennant with Wellsburg, WV’s Criswell coming out on top for his second checkered linen of the season. Criswell drives the Headhunter Motorsports/ Maloney’s Service/ KD Repair/ Frohnapfel Motorsports/ Wildcat Race Cars Honda civic. Following Criswell was Bill Tennant, Philip Bubeck, Wesley Tennant and Ethan Drain.

Kicking off the program was the youngsters of the MWRA Mini Wedges and grabbing his second win of the season was Tripp Perine in the Junior division over Natalie Hibbard and Keith Powell. Grabbing his third consecutive win of the season was the ‘Waterboy’ Luke Hyre aboard the H2O machine over current point leader Ryan Hare, and Josalyn Hibbard.
