Tyler County To Host Regular Season Finale, Sunoco $5,000 Shootout This Saturday
2 min read(Middlebourne, WV) With the countdown to the running of the 49th Annual Hillbilly 100 on Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1-3 fast approaching, the Hometown Racing Association will present an action packed night to close out the regular season at the Tyler County Speedway this Saturday Night, August 19th.
Drama, action and excitement will all be a part of this Saturday’s Hillbilly Qualifiers as a guaranteed starting spot will be up for grabs in each of the ‘Bullring’s regular divisions. See the areas best drivers battle it out for the right to punch their automatic starting spot into the huge Labor day extravaganza weekend. Pivotal starting spots are of great importance as the 49th Hillbilly field will see the best late model racers in the country head to the Tyler County Speedway. Along with fields typically in the 50’s for the Steel Block Late Models, FASTRAK Late Models and the AMRA Modifieds having a great run and help securing a spot to the ‘granddaddy’ of all short track events pivotal.
Also on the card, the regions most competitive track will settle 2017 track championship battles as well in each of the Tyler County Speedway divisions including the J&R Excavating Super Lates presented by Midcap Land and Timber, Appalachian Mineral Title Company FASTRAK Late Models, 2 Brothers Motorsports AMRA Modifieds, Sigler Fabrication EDGE Hotmods presented by Poske Performance Parts, Jenkins Auto Parts Modlites, 4 Cylinders and Gear 2 MWRA Mini Wedges.
Plus see the Sunoco Shootout featuring all the 2017 Super Late Model feature winners at the ‘Bullring’ in a $5,000 to win….winner take all….’dash for cash’ will also be on the colossal card. Eligible racers include Greenwood’s Derek Doll, Spelter’s Cody Rogers, New Martinsville’s Sonny Conley, Buckhannon’s Shane Hitt, Fairmont’s Jared Hawkins, Uniontown, PA’s Michael Lake and Wellsburg, WV’s Corey Conley plus Saturday Nights Hillbilly Qualifier winner will also be eligible.
A can’t miss night of storylines from crowning 2017 season champions in each division to watching guys lock up guaranteed starting spots to the summers biggest event, the Hillbilly Hundred. Plus witness some of the best super late shoes shootout for 5k make this one of the most intriguing nights of the season. Gates open at 4pm, with MWRA Mini Wedges getting underway at 6pm with hotlaps/qualifying to follow. General admission is just $12 and kids 10 and under admitted free plus pit passes priced at $35. 2017 Hillbilly Hundred tickets and reserve seats will also be on sale all evening.
