WHEELERSBURG, OH-The first special event of the 2013 season at the Southern Ohio Speedway is coming up this Friday, April 19th with the “Millenium Racing Graphics 30″ paying Modifieds $1,000 to win.  This is the first of three special event races in the next three weeks for the Modified class and is the second highest paying Modified race of the year at the track.  Also on the racing card will be Late Models, GCP Engines Sport Mods presented by Tomahawk Race Cars, and Pure Stocks.

The Modified division always puts on a great show and with $1,000 to win on the line, Friday’s Modified event is expected to be one of the most exciting of the season.  Modifieds will time trial, run a 6 lap dash featuring the six fastest qualifiers, run 8 lap heat races, 10 lap B-Main(s), and then the 30 lap “Millenium Racing Graphics 30″ feature event.

Last season, Hanover, Indiana’s Joey Kramer swept all three Modified special events at the track with two $1,000 wins and a $3,000 win.  In 2011, former World 100 winner Bart Hartman won a $3,000 to win Modified special at the track.  With one race in the books this season, Jason Montgomery currently leads the tracks Modified point standings after taking the Opening Night feature win.  2012 track champion Jeremy Rayburn sits second in points with Todd Robinson in third.

Friday’s Late Model show is also expected to be a good one.  Only two races remain until the “18th Annual Southern 100″ weekend as drivers will be looking to get laps on the track before the biggest weekend in SOS history.  Exciting shows are also expected in the GCP Engine Sport Mod and Pure Stock divisions.
