Skyline Welcomes 5th Annual Pete Smith Memorial

The Skyline Speedway is excited to host the 5th annual Pete Smith and Steve Ungar Memorial on Thursday July 3rd featuring the FAST on Dirt 410 Sprint Car special!
Featuring a $4,000 payday, the Skyline Speedway will welcome FAST Sprint Cars in what will be Skyline’s largest Sprint Car event in over 15 years!
The event organized by longtime Sprint Car supporter Darren Griffith of Briscoe Run Land Surveying, pays tribute to the long storied career of Pete Smith and the famous “WV Sprinter” machine! Pete’s career and Skyline Speedway are synonymous amongst fan’s of the era and both Jeff Burdette (Skyline Owner) and Griffith are excited to welcome the event and grow it in 2025.
As in previous editions, this year’s Pete Smith Memorial will pay tribute to a former pilot of the ‘WV Sprinter’ in Steve Ungar, who was a longtime competitor and winner at Skyline!
In addition to the Sprint Car special, Late Models, Modifieds and Sport Mods will do battle in the rare Thursday night show, which will kick off a busy July 4th weekend of racing in the Ohio Valley!
