Latrobe, PA (August 20, 2024): The Big Half Mile is back in action this Saturday, August 24, 2024, as the PA Thunder Vintage Mods return along with the K2 Engineering FASTrak Pro Late Models, Joe’s Body Shop & Towing Pure Stocks, Special T-Metals LLC Modified 4 Cylinders, Marilungo Disposal LLC Strictly Stock Four Cylinders, and the Dean Pollock Hobby Stocks.

The track championships are heating up. There are only two more nights to collect points, with the final night being for double points on Saturday, August 31.

Braeden Dillinger has a 60-point lead over Troy Shields in the K2 Engineering FASTrak Pro Late Models going into Saturday’s program. Jay McCracken, John Over, and Clinton Hersh round out the top five.

In the 2024 FASTrak Weekend Warrior Racing National Weekly Point Standings, Brent Trimble has a four-point lead over Braeden Dillinger with three more opportunities to gain FASTrak Weekly Warrior points. Dillinger has an opportunity for points on the 24th and 31st at Latrobe Speedway. He could still pursue the FASTrak Weekly Warrior title after the points are over at Latrobe Speedway. It appears that Dillinger will have to travel to the FastTrack Pro Late Models final race at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, KY, as the last race will feature double FASTrak points.

Another tight battle is looming in the Joe’s Body Shop & Towing Pure Stocks between Jeremy Zufall (1), 498 points, and Corey Faris, 471 points. John Hollis sits third, Jim Zufall is fourth, and John Cain is fifth.

Brandon Myers has a 41-point lead over Colton McNaney in the Special T Metals LLC Modified 4 Cylinders. From third to eighth in points will be a dog fight. Joe Jacobs is third with 346 points, Kenny Swink has 335 points, and Paul Koffler has 332 points. Putting pressure on the top five are Shawn Grist with 332 and Tifani McElhose with 322 points.

The Marilungo Disposal LLC Strictly Stock 4-Cylinders have put on very competitive races all season at Latrobe Speedway. Seth Nedrow is the point leader with 475 points, followed closely by Justin Connors with 469 points. Third is Brian Noel, who scored 459 points; Dan Shortman scored 440 points, and Bud Lawver scored 371.

Dontae Boggio leads the three-horse race for the Dean Pollock Hobby Stocks title. Boggio has a 6-point lead over Bryce Hensel with 244, and Scott Casto has 228 points.

The PA Thunder on Dirt Vintage Mods is also scheduled for Saturday night at Latrobe Speedway. Wally Stock, a previous winner at Latrobe Speedway, leads the 2024 season’s point chase. Stock (74) leads with 290 points over Ryan Maglione (555/15) with 202 points. Rich Cavallo (17C) sits in third with 200, and Tim Beatty (311) has 199 points.
