Middlebourne, WV – This Saturday night, June 29th, the Tyler County Speedway will host a special night of short track excitement with the “Giving Cancer the Black Flag” fundraising race. The highlight of the event will be the Jenkins Auto Parts UMP Modified special, featuring a $2,000 to win and $200 to start race. Adding to the excitement, there will also be a $1,000 to win Dash, sponsored by Stutler Motorsports, along with various bonus bucks such as Fast Time Award, Hard Chargers, Mystery Spots, and more. This event is also a MEGA Qualifier, promising an exhilarating night for all dirt track fans.

This event is made possible through the dedicated efforts of standout regular Tyler County Speedway driver Chad Smith, who lost his mother to this deadly disease just last year. Chad has worked tirelessly to create a fantastic race for the modified division while also supporting a very worthy cause. His personal connection to the fight against cancer has driven him to organize this special event and help others who are battling the same struggle.

The evening will not only showcase thrilling races but also aim to raise funds for a noble cause. All proceeds from the event will go to the Wetzel County Hopes and Memories Gas Card program. This program provides essential travel expense assistance to residents of Wetzel and Tyler County who need to travel for cancer treatment. Attendees can participate in various fundraising activities, including raffles, a Chinese auction, gift basket giveaways, door panels, t-shirt sales and a 50/50 raffle, to help support those in need.

Track promoter John Watson shared his thoughts on the upcoming event: “We’ve wanted to do an event like this for quite some time, and when Chad reached out, we were immediately on board. Everyone in our grandstand and pits has been touched by cancer in some way, and we hope that America’s Baddest Bullring can give back in some small way. We are honored to support the fine folks of the Wetzel County Hopes and Memories Gas Card program.”

The event will also feature regular racing action in several divisions, including the Stutler Motorsports Super Late Models, J&R Excavating RUSH Late Models, Middlebourne Galaxy Food Center Sportmods, Sigler Fabrication Hotmods, SCDRA 4 Cylinders, and Pathway Real Estate Professional Mini Wedges.

Gates will open at 4pm with Mini Wedges getting started at 6pm and Hotlaps/Qualifying getting underway at 7pm. Tickets are available for general admission at $15, with kids 10 and under admitted free. Pit passes are priced at $30, with free entry for kids 5 and under. Tickets can be purchased online at www.tylercountyspeedwayonline.com or at the gate on the day of the event.

Join us this Saturday night at the Tyler County Speedway as we “Give Cancer the Black Flag” and support a great cause while enjoying an action-packed evening of racing.

See you at the races!
