Iron-Man Northern Late Models & Iron-Man Sprint Cars Team Up For Atomic Halloween Havoc
5 min readSOMERSET, KENTUCKY (October 24, 2023) – The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series will conclude its 2023 season with a trip to Atomic Speedway in Waverly, OH on Saturday October 28 for Halloween Havoc paying $3,000 to win and $300 to start.
The event will also see the inaugural race for the Valvoline Iron-Man Sprint Car Series, featuring 410-Winged Sprint Cars also in action at Atomic Speedway for Halloween Havoc on Saturday October 28, with the Sprint Cars also racing for $3,000 to win and $300 to start.
The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series will be at Atomic Speedway on Saturday October 28 and will be featured in a full program of Denby’s J&J Construction Hot Laps, E-Z-GO Time Trials, Heat Races, Impact Race Gear B-Mains, and the 25-lap, $3,000 to win/$300 to start Halloween Havoc Valvoline A-Main feature event. The Valvoline Iron-Man Sprint Car Series first ever event will see a full program of Denby’s J&J Construction Hot Laps, E-Z-GO Time Trials, Heat Races, Impact Race Gear B-Mains, and the 25-lap, $3,000 to win/$300 to start Halloween Havoc Valvoline A-Main feature event. Joining the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series in action at Atomic Speedway for the Iron-Man Classic on Saturday September 16 will be the track’s Open Wheel Modifieds and Sport Mods. The track will host an Open Practice for all divisions on Friday evening October 27.
The Halloween Havoc event at Atomic Speedway on Saturday October 28 will also serve as the track’s 2023 Champions Night. The track will also be hosting a Meet the Drivers event, along with a Halloween Costume Contest, Most Spooktacular Race Trailer, a Haunted Tunnel under the VIP area, Hay Rides, and have a ton of giveaways for race fans.
Activities at Atomic Speedway on Saturday October 28 will see the pit area open at Noon, while the general admission area will open at 3:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 4:00 p.m., with practice and time trials set to get underway at 4:30 p.m., followed by green flag racing at 5:30 p.m. Of note, times may be adjusted depending on predicted temperatures for that day. The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the event and the tire rule will be as follows: Fronts: Open/Any Hoosier Tire; Left Rear: Hoosier NLMT 2 (LM20); Right Rear: Hoosier NLMT 2 (LM20), Hoosier NLMT 3 (LM30) (there is no limit on the number of tires used; the droop rule will be in effect, along with the standardized body rules of WoO/Lucas). There will be NO entry fee for this event and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for rent at the track.
The Valvoline Iron-Man Sprint Car Series will sanction the 410 Winged Sprint Car portion of the program and the rules will be those of the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series and those rules can be accessed at www.allstarsprint.com. There will be NO entry fee for this event and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for rent at the track. Sprint Car tire rule is: Hoosier Only: Fronts: D12, D15, D20, RR: D15A, Med., RR: D12A.
