BOSS Set For Doubleheader Opener

This Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22 will see the MPD Racing BOSS sprint cars kick off their 2023 season at Ohio Valley Speedway and Atomic Speedway.
A field of 14 drivers have indicated their intent to run the full tour. Many other regional wing and non wing drivers will also be joining the wingless warriors for the 2 day weekend.
Friday at Ohio Valley, gates open at 4 pm with hot lap / qualifying at 7 pm. Adult general admission is $20 with kids 10 and under free. Pit admission is $35 with kids 5 and under free.
Friday’s show at the Valley will pay the 2023 standard BOSS purse: 2000, 1000, 750, 650, 550, 500, 450, 425, 400, 375, 350, 340, 330, 320, 310, 300, 300, 300, 300, 300. Heat races will pay 40, 30, 20, 10 and there will be 5 bonus awards worth $50 each up for grabs.
On Saturday, the tour will move on to Atomic Speedway where pit gates will be open at 1 pm. General gates will open at 3. Hot laps will begin at 5 with racing at 6.
Saturday will mark the 6 year anniversary of the late Justin Owen’s BOSS win right there at Atomic Speedway. Several people have stepped up to help us increase the purse to honor his two sprint car numbers. Justin began his career in car 26 and won his races in the 4 car.
We have decided to make this special commemorative event pay $2,604 to win celebrating Justin’s life and legacy. In addition, an “extra lap for The Juice” will be added to make it a 26 lap feature. The rest of the payout will be the standard however, all starters will be racing for $404 to start and B Main tow money is $104.
But it does not stop there. The 26-4 combination has led people to donate. The fourth place finisher will get an extra $264. The hard charger will pay $264 and the hard luck will pay $264. Every pay envelope, including heat race envelopes, will have an extra $4 added. Former BOSS star Bob McMillin has brought back the “Sweet Move” award for a night which will pay $54, because we all know “The Juice” is sweet.

For teams competing, right rear tires must be 2022 or 2023 spec Hoosier right rears. Left rears and fronts are open to any Hoosiers. We will be using the yellow Westhold transponders both nights. There are no entry fees or membership fees to race with BOSS.

Teams needing hotel information, we will be using the Atomic Speedway host hotels in Chillicothe. The Quality Inn, Christopher Inn, Fairfield Inn and Hampton Inn ALL have racer discounts through the track. Be sure to tell them you are racing at Atomic Speedway to get the discount.
Don’t forget, both shows will be LIVE on The Cushion but we want everyone to come out both nights to help us commemorate the anniversary of Justin Owen’s 2017 win.
