Eldora #LETSRACETWO Canceled Due To Weather
2 min readThis weekend’s #LetsRaceTwo doubleheader at Eldora has been called off. A combination of an extremely saturated grounds and an unfavorable forecast of up to two inches of rain between Thursday night and Saturday morning; parlayed with a new dirt surface has forced officials to cancel both nights of racing for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series and USAC Amsoil National Sprint Car Series.
“Based on all the information we have gathered today, including current extreme saturation on the track and negative forecasts from all our weather consultant resources, we made this difficult decision to cancel,” said Jerry Gappens, general manager of Eldora Speedway. Hopefully, this early notice will help fans, teams, officials, and vendors reduce unnecessary travel costs.”
Neither of the two nights will be made up this season as there were no realistic scheduling options open that worked for both traveling sanctioning bodies.
