FAST Returns To Waynesfield Saturday

The Ti22 Performance FAST on Dirt tour returns to action this Saturday, April 17th at Waynesfield Raceway Park. After a highly successful season opener on March 27th, track promoter Shane Helms, looked to add an event to the 2021 schedule. Opportunity presented itself when the FAST tour lost a race scheduled for April 24th. After careful consideration and affirmation from all the full time tour teams, the deal was struck to add this event.
As always, Helms has gone above and beyond the minimum FAST pay, offering up his standard $4,000 to win / $400 to start main event purse for the 30 lap race. Joining the FAST winged 410 sprint cars will be the Fremont Speedway winged 305 sprints for NAPA Auto Parts of Fremont night. The 305 cars will be running for the standard Fremont Speedway weekly purse.
Snohomish, Washington native Gary Taylor is the early point leader in Joe Seeling’s Beaverdam Fleet Service, Sugar Street Bar & Grille, Northwest Ohio Towing & Recovery #97. Taylor was runner-up to opening event winner, T.J. Michael at Waynesfield, then followed it up with a 3rd place finish at Atomic one week later.
“Mad” Max Stambaugh is the early runner-up in the standings after very consistent 3rd and 5th place finishes. Max will be aboard his own Tripple JJJ Communications, Nesko Metal Sales #5M. 2019 tour champion, Cole Duncan, won the last event at Atomic Speedway and led much of the season opener at Waynesfield. Cole finds himself 3rd in the points after some bad racing luck late in the race opening night. Cole will be in the Duncan Racing, Ohio Heating, Helms Construction, MotorCity, Wolf Composites car #22.
Defending tour champion, Tyler Gunn, has found himself in a new ride for 2021. Like Duncan, Gunn was the victim of some tough racing luck but has been extremely quick at both events. You’ll see Tyler in the Danny Williams owned #27W with backing from Williams Sealcoating, Huff Auto, KK Collision, Zack’s Recycling, Freedom Benefits, World Class Collision, Premier Patching, Moore Plumbing and Gunn’s Auto Service.
Rounding out the current top 5 is Fairmount, Indiana’s Brandon Wimmer in the John Shewbrooks owned sprint car. After a strong 4th place finish at the Waynesfield opener, Brandon was a victim of a racing incident on his home track at Atomic Speedway, holding the Simpson Race Products, Kear’s Speed Shop #A79 to a 5th place standing.
The balance of the current top 15 includes Mitch Harble, Ryan Ruhl, Jordan Harble, Kody Swanson, Bryan Nuckles, R.J. Jacobs, Noah Dunlap, Cody Gallogly, T.J. Michael and Austin McCarl.
Tour marketing partners helping make heat race, bonus award and tow money payouts possible includes: Ti22 Performance, NAPA of Fremont, Helms Construction, TheCushion.com, Hoosier Racing Tires, Kear’s Speed Shop, All Star Performance, The Bridge Restaurant in Sidney, MSD Ignitions, MPD Racing and ARP Fasteners.
Pit gates will open at 3 pm with racing scheduled to begin at 7 pm. Adult general admission is just $18 with seniors admitted for $15. Kids aged 11-15 are just $10 while kids 10 and under are free. Pit passes will be $30.
For competing teams, there are no membership or entry fees of any kind to run with FAST. Cars must be on all 4 Hoosier race tires. The left rears must be the H series tire but right rears can be the H15, H20, Medium or W18 compounds. You do NOT need to run the same right rear all night. Wings must be flat top with maximum 2″ wickerbill. Drivers must have Raceceiver in at all times the car is on the race track. We will be using the yellow Westhold transponders. There will be some at the track for rent for $10. Mufflers are NOT required!
If we have 30 cars or less, cars draw directly into heat races 1-2 or 3. If we have 31+ cars, the field is split into a flight A and flight B with heats 1 and 2 coming from flight A and heats 3 and 4 coming from flight B. All heat races will invert 4 cars with the heat race winner AND the fastest qualifier in each heat who TRANSFERS from the heat, going to the redraw.
With the concerns over the length of the first show, Waynesfield Raceway Park has requested that FAST qualify DURING hot laps for this event. In an effort to help run a speedy and efficient show, we have agreed to do so.
Full race payout: 4000, 1800, 1200, 800, 700, 600, 550, 525, 500, 475, 450, 440, 430, 420, 410, 400, 400, 400, 400, 400. Heat races will pay: 40, 30, 20, 10. Hard Charger and Hard Luck Awards will pay $50 cash and the Sweet Move award winner will get a $50 certificate from All Star Performance.
