The RUSH Sportsman Modified Dirt Series Up Next At PPMS

Join us at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway this Saturday, August 31, for an exciting evening of racing and family-friendly entertainment with an action event featuring the RUSH Sportsman Modified Dirt Series. In the RUSH Sportsman Modified points race, only five points are separating first through fifth place. Garrett Krummert (10S), from Ellwood City, is leading the division with 100 points. Krummert (10S) picked up the win the last time the RUSH Modifieds were at PPMS on July 13. Tony Tatgenhorst (63T), from Columbiana, Ohio, is in second place with 98 points, while defending champion Chas Wolbert (C3), from Howland, Ohio, is in third place with 97 points, Steve Slater (29), from Butler, is in fourth place with 96 points, and former champion Kole Holden (2), from Tiona, rounds out the top five with 95 points. With the points race being so close, the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds will be one to watch on Saturday.

Ben Policz (14B), from Rices Landing, padded his points lead on Saturday, as he picked up the win in the Diehl Automotive RUSH Late Model Dirt Series 20-lap feature event. Policz (14B) got some redemption after blowing his motor two weeks ago while leading the feature for 18 of the 20 laps. Policz (14B) now has 1089 points, which is 24 points more than second-place Christian Schneider (1ST), from Warren, Ohio. Schneider (1ST) has been hot on the heels of Policz (14B) for most of the season and should make the remainder of the season an interesting one. John Mollick (60M), from Toronto, Ohio is in third place with 957 points, while Nico Dabecco (F1), from Verona, is in fourth place with 871 points, and two-time defending RUSH Late Model champion, Justin Lamb (93X), from Findlay Township, rounds out the top five with 851 points.

Danny Rich (67X), from Imperial, picked up his fourth win of the season last Saturday, in the PPMS Pro Stock 15-lap feature, extending his points lead to 1090 points. 51 points more than second-place Mike Harris (18), from Bridgeville. Harris (18) has 1039 points and one feature win on the season. A.J. Poljak (36), from Baldwin, is in third place with 777 points, while Nick Kocuba (10), from Bulger, is in fourth place with 679 points, and Dave McManus (114), from Elizabeth, completes the top five with 663 points.

Tyler Fox (39F), from Pittsburgh, has won the last two Keystone Coach Works Hobby Stock features, but due to his limited appearances at PPMS this season, he is in fifteenth place with only 353 points. Two-time defending champion, Stephen Shelpman (17S), from Pleasant Hills, sits atop the leaderboard with 1122 points. Marcus Simmons (68X), from Beaver Falls, is 33 points behind the leader with 1089 points. Hobby Stock rookie, Frank Magill (05), from Jefferson Hills, is in third place with 1043 points. Magill (05) has had an impressive season thus far, consistently finishing in the top five. Karlee Kovacs (221K), from Carnegie, has moved up to fourth place with 1041 points. Kovacs (221K) used to dominate in the Young Guns division before moving up to a Hobby Stock. Ed. Shelpman (17P), from Pleasant Hills, has cracked the top five with 1031 points and rounds out the top five in the points race.

“The Dominator” Andy Garlinger (R88), from Hopedale, Ohio, has been crushing the competition in the Four Cylinder division. Garlinger (R88) has won every Four Cylinder feature this season and sits atop the leaderboard in the Four Cylinders points race with 1120 points, which is a whole 255 points lead over the field. John Gill (19G), from Burgettstown, was almost able to dethrone Garlinger (R88) two weeks ago as he led the entire race until Garlinger (R88) was able to pass him on the last lap, continuing his winning streak. Gill (19G) sits in second place with 865 points, while Craig Rudolph (5R), from Steubenville, Ohio, is in third place with 775 points, rookie driver, Tanya Charlier (21), from Midway, is in fourth place with 714 points, and Jason Romine (71) completes the top five with 516 points.

Susie Rudolph (55), from Steubenville, Ohio, has been putting on a clinic in the Young Guns division. S. Rudolph (55) has eight total wins on the season with seven in a row. S. Rudolph (55) starts in last place pretty much every week and takes over first place in no time. S. Rudolph has a 30-point lead over the field. Kyle Janas (88), from Coraopolis, has been hot on her heels all season and is currently sitting in second place with 1076 points. Janas (88) has been consistently finishing right behind S. Rudolph (55) all season. Tony Magill (05), from Jefferson Hills, is sitting in third place with 1067 points, 39 points out of first place. Cameron Hollister (44), from McDonald, is in fourth place with 713 points, and Cameron Lambert (22), from Mars, rounds out the top five with 602 points.

On Saturday, PPMS will also be featuring, the Diehl Automotive RUSH Late Model Dirt Series, the PPMS Pro Stocks, the Keystone Coach Works Hobby Stocks, the Four Cylinders, and the Young Guns.
