Chub Frank Scores Thunder Mountain Win

Knox Dale- With another night of racing, fans were treated to great racing in each division. First class for the evening were the Watt Logging Pure Stocks. Mike Anderson in the 76 and Andy Frey in the 55X led the field to the green for fifteen laps. Anderson took the early lead as Bill Mumau in the 871 took second over Frey. Justin Watt in the 00 moved up to fifth and was battling Dennis Harrison Jr in the 42 for fourth before Harrison started to battle Frey for third. With Frey, Watt, and Harrison battling for third, Greg Blystine i the 629 moves up top and rockets past Harrison, Watt, and Frey to move into the third position. Frey would then get pressure from the 42 of Harrison as he makes the pass by Frey moving himself into third. A lap later, Makinna Pearce in the 01P gets sideways in turn two to bring out the caution. On the restart, Blystone in the 629 battles Mumau for second but does not get past the fast running 871. At the end, it was Mike Anderson who went on to collect his first Thunder Mountain victory of 2019. The Kinetic By Windstream Semi Late Models were track side next. The 222 of Jeff Sweeney and the 2T of Rich Wicker made up the front row for twenty laps. Wicker took the early lead as Sweeney and Kevin Dickson in the 9 ran second and third. The 1M of Zach Myers and the 5L of Jon Lee battled for fifth before Myers secured the position. Jeremy Ohl in the 5J reeled in the 29 of Ryan Caldwell for seventh before Rich Wicker went up in smoke on the backstretch. This handed the lead over to Jeff Sweeney. On the restart, Sweeney jumps out to the lead as Lee in the 5L moved into second before the 1 of Caleb Whiteford slows on the front stretch. The next restart seen Lee rocket to the lead as Myers in the 1M moved into third. Doug Surra in the 3AA and Kevin Dickson in the 9 battled for fifth before Surra took over the position. Dickson would then hold off the 67 of Vern Ward and the 50 of Bob McMillen for sixth, At the end, it was Jon Lee in the 5L who came out strong to pick up the win for the feature event. Third for the evening were the Legends Powersports Super Late Models. Dave Blazavixh in the 18B and Del Rougeux in the 28D made up the front row for twenty five laps. Rougeux took the early lead as Blazavich and Chub Frank in the Chad McClellan owned 119 battled for second. Chub secured the second position as Doug Eck in the 20 moved into fourth over Paul Kot in the 36. a lap later, Frank takes the lead from Rougeux as Blazavich pressures the 28D for second. Blazavich would take over the second position and set his sights on Frank. Chris Hackett in the 33 moved into fourth before Blazavich took over the lead from Frank. The 94 of Charlie Powell would get sideways on the backstretch to bring out the yellow. Since a lap was not completed, the next restart had Frank back out to the lead. On the restart, Blazavich goes high to take the lead before Frank slides up in front Blazavich to hold the lead. This made the 20 of Eck and the 111 of Matt Lux to move into second and third as Blazavich collects himself and powers on. Rougeux, Hackett, and Kot had a dog fight going on for fourth as Lux in the 111 moved into second over Eck. Blazavich would then move into third over Eck. The yellow flag then came out for Wendell Pickney and Jeremy Ohl in the 11H who got together in turn three. On the restart, Lux and Blazavich battle for second as Rougeux and Eck fought for fourth. Eck would then move into fourth as Lux secured the second position. Lux then set his sights on Frank for the lead. Lux would reel in Frank but it was not enough as Frank went on to win one of the best super late feature events in 2019. The Dunlap Lawn & Garden Front Wheel DriveFour Cylinders were track side next for their fifteen laps. The 33M of Curtis Mohney and the 200 of Matt Bryant made up the front row. Bryant would take the early lead as Mohney and Rob Williams in the 9MM ran second and third. Josh Frantz in the 15B and Joe Huber in the 8H battled for fourth before Huber secured the position. Bill Fuchs in the 10 and Chad Greeley in the 27 battled for fifth as Fuchs moved into fifth before the 777 hits the front stretch wall. On the restart, Frantz and Mohney battle for second before Mohney secures the position. Jeff Huber, who has been fast all year, started dead last and was working his way up to seventh before he powered by Greeley for sixth. Jeff Huber would then set his sights on the 8H of Joe Huber and the 15B of Josh Frantz. the 42 would then move by the 15B and 8H for third. Greeley would move into seventh before the 116 of Sam Orf Jr spins in turn two. On the restart, Bryant and Huber battle for the lead before the 42 of Jeff Huber moves into the lead. With three laps to go, Huber runs away from the field. At the end, it was Jeff Huber who went on to win his fourth feature event in a row. Last for the evening were FDR HVAC Street Stocks. Duke Davidson in the 81 and Ray Hickok Jr in the 4ord made up the front row for twenty laps. Hickok took the early lead as Gary Luzier in the 960 moved into second . Bill Hurrellbrink in the C8 and Duke Davidson battled for third before Davidson spins in turn three. Four cars were left on the next restart. On the restart, Hickok takes the lead as Luzier ran second. Zach Gustafson in the 983 ran third as Bill Hurrellbrink ran fourth. At the end, it was Ray Hickok Jr who went on to pick up the win in the street stocks. Hickok was followed by 2) Gary Luzier 960 3) Zach Gustafson 983 4) Bill Hurrellbrink C8 5) Duke Davidson 81 6) Fuzzy Fields 28. The lone heat race winner was Zach Gustafson.
