STRONGSTOWN, PA – D.M. Craig Fabrication and Welding Services presented trophies to the feature winners Friday night at Dog Hollow Speedway, with Mike Laughard of Twin Rocks taking the win in the Townsend Gas and Oil Super Late Models, Nick Erskine of Mahaffey topped the Iron Horse Salvage 358 Semi Lates, with Jacob Piper of Mercersburg topping the RUSH Crate Late Models, with Duncansville’s Brad Benton picking up another win in the Amsoil Pure Stocks and Chris Anderson taking the win in the D.M. Craig Fabrication and Welding Services Four Cylinders.
Mike Laughard beat John Wayne Weaver off the line at the start of the Super Late Model feature and led the race to the checkered flag, with relative ease. Weaver held on to finish second with new comer Will Bortsky rounding out the field. Weaver won the heat.
Colin Casale and Braeden Dillinger led the Crate Late Models to the green flag, with Dillinger taking the lead. He set the pace for the first four laps, before mechanical problems caused him to relinquish the lead to Jacob Piper in turn four. Piper then held off Casale and Tim Snare Jr. the rest of the way to pick up his first ever DHS victory. The top five were: Piper, Casale, Snare, Mark Read and Devin Grubb. Piper also won the heat.
Bernie Whiteford Jr.. and Nick Erskine brought the 358 Semi Lates to the start, as Erskine took the lead and set the pace, while Whiteford was second with his brother Caleb right behind, but Chad Helman took third from Caleb Whiteford on lap two and on lap seven Kyle Smith Jr. took over third. As the race continued Smith was reeling in Whiteford Jr., and at the checkered flag, it was Erskine winning over Smith, Whiteford Jr., Helman and Caleb Whiteford. Smith won the heat.
Sam Adams and Brad Benton led the Pure Stocks to the green flag with Benton taking the lead and setting the pace the entire 20 laps. It was Bentons eighth win of the season and his 13th overall at various speedways. McAdams held on to second, Joe Kephart was third, Andrew Wallace was fourth and Laura Reilly completed the top five. There was no heat.
Adam Henry, subbing for Jamie Noel and Pat Brehm brought the 24-four cylinder field to the green flag for the special event, with Brehm taking he lead. The race came down under a red flag on lap four when Jack Theys got turned around in turn one and Logan Graham was unable to avoid him, T-Boning the past champ in the drivers door. Blacklick Valley EMS and Pine Township Fire Co. rushed to the scene. Both drivers were checked over with Theys ending up with a shoulder injury.
The restart saw seventh place starter Chris Anderson take the lead from Brehm and never relinquish it, as Justin Williamson closed on Anderson but could not get the extra power to move into the lead. At the line it was Anderson taking his first DHS win of the year, and $700 with Williamson, Kolton Wagner third, Dylan Young fourth and Kevin Criswell fifth. Heat wins went to Theys, Williamson and Anderson.
