I-77 & Tyler County Offers Up $32,000 In Purse Money For July WV Doubleheader
2 min readCARNESVILLE, GA – The FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance will return to action for a West Virginia doubleheader on July 12th and 13th, offering up over $32,000 in purse money. The series will visit I-77 Speedway in Ripley, WV for the 9th Annual UBB 29 Miner’s Memorial for $3,000 to win on July 12th. The following day, FASTRAK heads to “America’s Baddest Bullring”, Tyler County Speedway, for the 2nd Annual $7,000 to win Great American Crate Race.
Benji Hicks of Mt. Airy, NC is seeking his third consecutive UBB 29 Miner’s Memorial win, having won the event in 2017 and 2018 at Princeton Speedway. As the Memorial shifts to I-77 Speedway, Hicks will look to continue his win streak. Carson Ferguson, the current points and Rookie of the Year leader, has won the last three FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance will try to continue his streak which began Memorial Day weekend at Friendship Motor Speedway. Ferguson picked up his second win at Toccoa Raceway, following that up with a win at Virginia Motor Speedway in the USA 100.
Kyle Lukon of Burgettstown, PA won the inaugural Great American Crate Race in 2018, collecting the $7,000 top prize. Lukon went on to win the 2018 FASTRAK VP Racing Fuels National Weekly Championship.
Nick Schlager currently sits in second in the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance points. Michael Brown, a three-time winner this season, is in third. Tim Vance and Justin Hudspeth round out the top five.
