BRP Modified Tour Invades Thunder Mountain For The Second Time

Knox Dale- Friday evening was greeted by very hot weather and many cars for another night of racing at Thunder Mountain. The first feature of the evening were the BRP Big Block Modifieds for their 35 lap feature. Riding on the front row were Rick Regalski in the 13 and Chris Rudolph in the 25. On the start, the 03 of Mark Frankhouser gets tangled up with the front stretch wall. On the restart, Jeremiah Shindledecker in the 37MD moves into the lead as Garrett Krummert in the 29 charged to second before the caution flag flew for a pile up in turn two. The next restart seen the 65 of Rex King Sr take over second as Rex King Jr took over third. JR McGinley in the 66M ran in seventh as Paul Kot in the 7S ran in eighth. Kyle Fink in the 66F took over ninth as Rex King Jr passes Shingledecler in lap traffic for the lead before the caution flew for the 3K of Shawn Kozar who slowed on the backstretch. On the restart, Paul Kot moved into the top five taking over the fifth position as Dave Murdick in the 61 moved into sixth. Chris Rudolph and Paul Kot would duke it out for fourth as McKInney moved into the fifth position before the caution flag flew for the 90 of Erick Bowser who went over turn four. On the restart, Shingledecker in the 37MD moved into eighth after coming up through the tail of the field. The caution came out again for the 66M of JR McGinley who slowed in turn two. On the restart, Dave Murdick moved into third as Shingledecker moved into to the top five taking over fifth. With the checkers in the air, it was Rex King Jr who held out strong to collect the checkers. King Jr was followed by 2) Jim Rasey 3) Dave Murdick 4)Chris Rudolph 5) Paul Kot 6) Jeremiah Shindledecker 7) Skip Moore 8) Rick Regalski 9) Bob Warren 10) Garrett Krummert 11) Steve Barr 12) Shawn Fleeger 13) JR McGinlety 14) Kevin Hoffman 15) Erick Bowser 16) Rex King Sr 17)Dillon Barr 18) Kyle Fink 19) Max Smoker 20) Shawn Kozar 21) Jimmy Holden 22) Lonny Riggs 23) Brad Rapp 24) Mark Frankhouser 25) Randy Chrosnister. Heat Winners were Rex King Jr, Rex King Sr, and Dave Murdick.
Second feature event for the evening were the FDR HVAC Street Stocks. With only four street stocks, Bill Hurrellbrink in the C8 and the 4ord of Ray Hickok Jr made up the front row to go green for fifteen laps. On the start, Hickok Jr took the lead as Hurrellbrink ran in second trying to move into the lead. Hickok Jr and Hurrellbrink battled for the lead as Douglas Eck in the 4* ran in third and Allen English in the 64 ran in fourth. Towards the end, Hickok slows with some mechanical problems as Hurrellbrink took over the lead. At the end, Hurrellbrink went on to win the feature event and gained a starting spot for the Gateway Special at Hummingbird Speedway tonight honoring Tommy Scott. Hurrellbrink was followed by 2) Douglas Eck 3)Allen English 4) Ray Hickok Jr. The lone heat winner was Bill Hurrellbrink.
Third feature for the evening were the Legends Powersports Super Late Models. Chad McClellan in the 7M and Gale Huey in the 11H made up the front row for twenty five laps. On the start, Huey takes the early lead as Mike Pegher Jr took over the second position. Michael Lake and Chad McClellan ran third and fourth before Gale Huey spins in turn two. On the restart, Matt Lux in the 111 moved into fourth as Kyle Knapp in the 33K ran in the fifth position. Bob Dorman in the 19 and Colton Flinner in the 48 battled for sixth before Todd English in the 711 spun in turn two. On the next restart, Knapp and Flinner get together in turn one to bring out the caution. On this restart, Lake takes over the second position as McClellan and Lux battled for third. Dorman and Doug Eck battled for fourth before the 28D of Del Rougeux spins in turn four. On the restart, Matt Lux and Michael Lake battle for second as Eck and Flinner battle for sixth. The caution flag came out again for a car spun in turn four who was Del Rouguex. After numerous restarts to get off of lap 13, the sixth restart was a charm as Chris Hackett in the 33 took over the sixth position as Lake moved into eighth. Doug Eck and Chad McClellan battled for fourth before McClellan moved into the fourth position. At the end, it was Mike Pegher Jr who held out strong to win the feature event of the evening. Pegher Jr was followed by 2) Matt Lux 3) Bob Dorman 4) Chad McClellan 5) Chris Hackett 6) Michael Lake 7) Doug Eck 8) Colton Flinner 9)Shawn Lindemuth 10) Nate Brady 11) Del Rougeux 12) Gale Huey 13) Kyle Knapp 14) Clay Ruffo 15) John Wayne Weaver 16) Todd English 17) Dylan Fenton 18) Skip Lindemuth. Heat winners were Michael Lake, Kyle Knapp, and Mike Pegher Jr.
Fourth for the evening were the Dunlap Lawn & Garden Front Wheel Drive Four Cylinders. Joe Huber in the 8H and Jeff Huber in the 42 made up the front row to go green. Jeff Huber took the early lead as the 15B of Josh Frantz and Joe Huber battled for second before the 33M of Curtis Mohney slows in turn two. On the restart, the 10 of Bill Fuchs moved into fifth as Joe Huber and Zack Frantz in the 36F battled for third. Sam Orf Jr moved into seventh before the 36F of Zack Frantz goes air borne off of turn two. Frantz was okay and returned to the racing action. On the restart, Fuchs took over third as Jeff Huber stretch out his lead. With the checkers out, Jeff Huber in the 42 went on to win another feature event for the four cylinders. Huber was followed by 2) Josh Frantz 3) Bill Fuchs 4) Cody Young 5) Sam Orf Jr 6) Austin Fedder 7) Chad Greeley 8) Greg Kiehl 9) Zack Frantz 10) Joe Huber 11) Curtis Mohney 12) Dylan Hickok (DQ). DJ Clark and Rob Williams were DNS. Heat winners were Jeff Huber and Joe Huber.
Last on the card for the evening were the Watt Logging Pure Stocks. Josh Fields in the 88 and Dillon Smith in the 112S made up the row to go green. Josh Fields in the 88 took the early lead as Smith and Justin Watt in the 00 battled for second. Greg Blystone in the 629 ran in third as Sam McAdams ran in fourth. Watt took over the second position as Mikanna Pierce in the 01P took over the fifth position. McAdams spins in turn one and collects the 01P of Pierce. On the restart, Fields and Watt battled for the lead. As the laps counted down, Watt was gaining inches every lap. On the last lap, Fields blows a motor coming-out of turns three and four which allowed Watt to go by him to pick up his first Thunder Mountain feature win. Watt was followed by 2) Dillion Smith 3) Greg Blystone 4) Sam McAdams 5) Josh Fields 6) Mikanna Pierce 7) Tyler Blystone. The lone heat winner was Josh Fields
