“Driver Appreciation Night” This Week At Raceway 7

Conneaut, OH (July 12, 2018 — The 2018 racing season is halfway through the scheduled season with only six events actually run of the ten originally planned to this date. “Driver Appreciation Night”, originally scheduled for June 1stwas rained out then rescheduled to June 22, and again rained out by the wet spring that has eliminated four race nights.

Several racing-oriented companies will reward drivers for their continued support of the sport they love. Regular racing programs in all five classes will be presented with special awards given out throughout the program. Among companies participating are Close Racing Supply, Bazell Racing Fuels, NAPA Girard, O’Reilly of Girard, McDonald Connors Racing, Bonnie and Gary Neubauer of Amsoil, Bazell Oil Race Fuels, RUSH, and Raceway 7.

Of the six nights actually raced Darrell Bossard has dominated the Evergreen Lake Park Campground RUSH Crate Late Model features with four wins. Only Jason Genco with a win May 25thand Dave Airgood, the winner June 15th, have interrupted Bossard’s dominance and on those nights, Bossard was second! As a result he has a 74 point lead over second-running Breyton Santee. Airgood is third, another 28 points down, the defending champion Kyle Zimmerman, and Matt Latta.

Troy Johnson picked up his first win of the season last week in the Bonnell’s Collision Center E-Mods and leads the points for the division. Gary Eicher, the defending champion runs second 29 points out of the lead. Two-time former champion Percy McDonald is third with former champion Joel Watson fourth and young Casey Bowers fifth.

Last Friday Paul Schreckengost got his second Campbell’s Mini Storage feature win of the season and leads the points standings by 20 over Mike Clark. Pat Fielding, the opening night winner, is third 58 points behind Clark and just five markers ahead of fourth-running Darr Diegelman. Tim Deutsch, with a win on June 29, Stands fifth.

Defending champion Steve Haefke, with a win last week, stands leads the Bonnell’s Auto Group Economod standings over opening night winner Eric Reinwald, the veteran Chuck Steinle Jr, and Buzz Seitz. Kyle Miller, Eric Wilson, Brandon Blackshear, and Tyler Frankenberry also have wins this season. Will one of the above be the first double winner of 2018 in the class?

Defending champion Joe Campbell, last week’s winner, leads the Sunnyside Farm Transit Mini Stocks by only five points over Dillon Speer. Another 16 points back is Jim Haefke Jr. Zach Downes is fourth with Justin Bailey fifth. Speer, Haefke, and Downes each have been to Victory Lane with Downes having three wins to one each for Campbell, Speer, and Haefke. Bailey is the only car in the top five without a feature win.

Raceway 7 is located six miles south of Interstate 90 on Route 7 in the town of Monroe Center, OH and races every Friday night May — September. Racing begins at 7:30 PM every Friday. General admission for regular events is $10 and children 7-14 admitted for $5 each. Kids 6 and under are always free. NO PETS are admitted to the track! Fan and pit gates open at 5:30 PM. Pit admission is $25 with minimum age 18. Children under 18 admitted with a “Minor Release” form available at pit gate that must be filled out by a parent accompanying the youth.
