Raceway 7 Makes Second Attempt To start 2018 Season Friday
2 min readConneaut, OH (May 9, 2018) — Raceway 7 will welcome fans and race teams this Friday to start the 2018 season with regular racing on tap in all five divisions. After the scheduled opening was cancelled last week due to wet grounds after steady rains earlier, fans are ready for racing to start at the northeastern Ohio oval.
The RUSH Evergreen Lake Park Campground Crate Late Models will be the featured class this summer with heats and a twenty-lap feature run on regular race nights. The Bonnell’s Collision Center E-Mods with heats and a 20 lap feature, Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stocks with heats and a 15 lap feature, Bonnell’s Auto Group Economods with heats and a 15 lap feature, and Sunnyside Farm Transit Inc Mini Stocks with heats and a 12 lap feature will add to the fan’s enjoyment as well.
2017 champions in the five classes were Kyle Zimmerman (Evergreen Lake Park Campground), Gary Eicher (Bonnell’s Collision Center E-Mods), Jimmy Kennerknecht (Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stocks, Steve Haefke (Bonnell’s Auto Group Economods), and Joe Campbell (Sunnyside Farm Transit Mini Stocks. All class championships will again be hard fought by the returning champions.
Raceway 7 is located six miles south of Interstate 90 on Route 7 in the town of Monroe Center, OH and races every Friday night May — September. Racing begins at 7:30 PM every Friday. General admission for regular events is $10 and children 7-14 admitted for $5 each. Kids 6 and under are always free. NO PETS are admitted to the track! Fan and pit gates open at 5:30 PM. Pit admission is $25 with minimum age 18. Children under 18 admitted with a “Minor Release” form available at pit gate that must be filled out by a parent accompanying the youth.
