(Marietta, Ohio) Stan Lester, founder of FASTRAK Companies International, will become the new Director of Operations of the American Motor Racing Association (AMRA) for the 2018 season. AMRA is based in Marietta, OH. AMRA sanctions Super Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, and Sport Mods. The ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Series and AMRA previously announced that they will work together as sanctioning bodies in the realm of super late models. That announcement has led to new opportunities.

“We will be using this year to listen and learn,” said Lester, “I will be meeting with tracks and teams before the season to see what their needs are as I take on this new endeavor.”

With Lester coming in as Director of Operations, there are no initial plans to make any major changes for the 2018 season. The only change currently planned for 2018 is possibly adding one Open Wheel Modified touring race at each of the AMRA sanctioned race tracks. AMRA officials will be putting together meetings for track operators and teams to have the chance to meet Lester face to face. Once those meetings are completed, some changes could be made based on the needs of tracks and drivers. Through FASTRAK, Lester has already built a strong relationship with several of the sanctioned race tracks.

“Adding the Open Wheel Modified touring races is the only thing I want to do different in 2018,” stated Lester, “I want to reiterate that we aren’t here to make wholesale changes, but to listen, learn, and help this season.”

AMRA feels that Lester’s experience in motorsports sanctioning will be a valuable benefit to the sanctioning body in 2018 and beyond. In 2018, AMRA drivers will be able to obtain weekly points when they come compete with the ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Series.

“We are putting AMRA in the hands of someone who is going to take it to the next level,” stated AMRA representative Angie Haught, “Stan has a remarkable ability to communicate with tracks and teams, which is second to none.”

Lester comes in to AMRA with the goal of helping the drivers and the tracks, something that is no different than how he has built FASTRAK over the past 15 years. He hopes to incentivize more drivers to get involved, which will bring more people to the stands and the pits, leading to the tracks having additional income.

“Stan will help promote the stars of this region,” continued Haught, “It will lead to more people competing, more people in the stands, and more people in the pits. It’s truly a win-win-win!”

Through FASTRAK, AMRA members will be offered $100,000 in participant accident medical insurance through Mutual of Omaha in 2018. The policy also includes $10,000 in accidental death and specific loss coverage. The policy will cover drivers any time they are competing in an AMRA, FASTRAK, or ULTIMATE sanctioned event. Drivers can also add any additional crew members to the policy for just $20 per person.

“We never want to see anything happen to any driver,” said Lester, “But putting these protections in place for the drivers is an important step in taking care of them.”
