Skyline To Host Inaugural ‘Ronnie & Sarah Bond Memorial’ Saturday

(Stewart, Ohio) The Skyline Speedway in Stewart Ohio is proud to formally announce that the track will host the Inaugural “Ronnie & Sarah Bond Memorial” on Saturday August 19th. The event which has been known as the “Sarah Bond Memorial” in recent years, will undergo the name change to help honor and celebrate the life of Sarah’s husband Ronnie who passed away this past May.

Both Ronnie and Sarah Bond’s life impact upon the Skyline Speedway has been recognized and respected by many for decades. Outside of their time on the track, Ronnie and Sarah Bond’s influence upon the Skyline Speedway included operating the facility for a successful stint
in the early 1980’s, following a turbulent few years for the facility. Widely respected by many, and a constant presence at the facility for years, the Ronnie & Sarah Bond Memorial is the current track management’s way of expressing their appreciation and respect to the many year’s of dedication towards the facility from the Bond family, even as son’s Larry and Andy along with grandson Kyle Bond compete yet today at the facility, while their daughters and numerous family members can be found around the track each time the gates open.

Promoter Steve Curtis and staff look forward to this special event, as this race certainly resonates with Steve Curtis, who grew up attending events at the facility and much like Ronnie & Sarah Bond, stepped up to operate the facility following a few turbulent seasons. Last year’s Sarah Bond Memorial also marked the first event under the track’s new management, and the staff will be looking to give fans plenty of excitement both on and off track as this event is about much more than just additional cars and purse money.

With the event highlighted by $2,010 AMRA Late Model and $1,010 AMRA Modified specials plus racing in the AMRA Sport Mods, 4-Cylinders & WRA Mini Wedges, fans are certainly in for an exciting evening of racing as apart of this rare Saturday night event at the Skyline Speedway!
Last year Tyler Carpenter pulled double duty and scored victories in both the AMRA Late Model and AMRA Modified portion of the event. However, if the first half of 2017 is any indication, this event promises to see see plenty of talent, tough battles and it’s share of excitement especially as both track and AMRA National points become more and more important as the season winds down.
