Conneaut, OH (June 2, 2017): On a beautiful June night race fans were treated to a full card of racing including the regularity scheduled features plus the Street Stock heats not run last race night plus the Mini-Stock feature from May 19th. Chris Withers, a former Street Stock champion, dominated the Bonnell’s Collision Center CARS Crate Late Model finale to score his first-ever feature victory in the division, leading flag to flag. Ken Zimmer led the way in the Bonnell Collision Service E-Mod for his first win of the season while Steve Haefke inherited the Bonnell’s Auto Group Economod feature after Brandon Blackshear suddenly slowed only two laps short of victory. Tim Deutsch led flag to flag in the Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stock feature for his first win of the season.Joe Campbell picked up his first win of the season in the regularly scheduled Sunnyside Farm Transit Mini Stock night-capper while Dale Fraschetti dominated the “make-up” Sunnyside Farm Transit feature to start the evening.

The Sunnyside Farm Transit Mini Stock feature from May 19 began with a false start when several cars didn’t come up to speed. Jim Jones led from the outside front row through turn two of lap two, making way for Dale Fraschetti, who had started fourth. Fraschetti lengthened his lead with Kyle Adkins second and Bill Fuchs third, getting into lapped traffic at lap six. On the back straight of lap seven Fuchs took over second. At eight laps complete the Mike Barr car headed to the infield with fire coming from the front end and caution was thrown. Under caution third-running Adkins retired pitside. For the final green flag it was Fraschetti, Fuchs, Jones, Joe Campbell, and Logan Keney the top five. Keney then pulled into the pits, elevating Shawn McBride into the top five. By the checkers Fraschetti had a near quarter-lap lead over Fuchs, Campbell. Jones, and Derrick Tuttle, who got by McBride late in the going.

The Bonnell’s Collision Service E-Mods were the first regularly scheduled feature on the track with Ken Zimmer and Jeff Johnson on the front row of the eighteen car field. Zimmer was the leader at the end of lap one with Johnson second and Joel Watson third. At three complete fifth-starting Watson was battling for the lead with Troy Johnson coming to third over Jeff Johnson. At the line at the end of five Watson was even with Zimmer but Zimmer pulled back out to the lead a lap later and enjoyed a four car length lead at the end of seven. At halfway it was Zimmer, Watson, Troy Johnson, Gary Eicher, and Jeff Johnson. Eicher got by Troy Johnson with three to go. Zimmer went on to the win over Watson, Eicher, Troy Johnson, and Jeff Johnson.

The Evergreen Lake Park Campground CARS Crate Late Models had Josh Stoica on the pole position with Chris Withers to his right. Withers led from the green with Chad Wright, the May 12th winner, second at the end of one lap. Alan Dellinger was third a lap later over Dave Airgood. Dylan Goodman spun in turn two, slowing the field for the first time with three complete. Withers again led from the restart over Wright, Airgood, Dennis Lunger, and Brenton Santee fifth at the end of six. At seven compete yellow again appeared with Will Pinckney spun in turn three. At green it was again Withers leading the way with Airgood now second and Lunger and Wright side by side for third when Dylan Goodman spun again in turn two, slowing the race. In turn two with nine complete Hunter Halley spun in turn two, then was collected head on by Goodman, ending his night with three cautions. Will Pinckney, Hully, and Nathan Earle piled up in turn three just as the leaders took the halfway signal. Withers again led, this time with Lunger, Alan Dellinger, and Airgood fighting over second. With five to go the top five were Withers, Lunger, Dellinger and Airgood, side by side, and Wright. Before lap sixteen was compete Brandon Porter and Nathan Earle spun in turn two, forcing yet another restart. Dellinger got by Lunger for second on the first lap after the single file restart as Withers continued to lead. With the white flag flying Kohle Wanzer looped his Mount coming out of turn four, setting up a one-lap dash for the win. Withers again brought the field back to green with Dellinger second, Lunger third over Airgood and Wright. Withers, a former Street Stock champion, went on to his first ever Crate Late Model win with the rest of the top five in the same order as the final green flag.

Geoff Conn and Gary Olson brought the nineteen car Bonnell’s Auto Group Economod feature to green with Olson narrowly leading lap one over May 19 winner Brandon Blackshear but yellow negated the lap when Justin Sax, Eric Ralph, and Gary Murphy all spun in turn three. Olson went pitside under the caution. Geoff Conn had an issue in turn one, needing towed from the track, thus leaving the Blackshear brothers at the front of the field, Brad on the inside and Brandon outside. Brandon, looking for his second consecutive win, lept out to the lead over Brad, Steve Haefke, Eric Reinwald, and Mitch Wright. Only two laps were complete with Jace Ferringer hit the spin cycle in turn two, again slowing the race. Buzz Seitz was the next caution when he lost the handle in turn two, again only one lap of green. By this caution Reinwald was up to third and Wright fourth with Brandon and Brad Blackshear still at the front and Haefke back to fifth. Mark Titus was the next caution, turn one after only one lap of green. Zero laps were completed before the next yellow, Kyle Reinwald and Kinney, this time in turn three. Wright came to second at the restart with Haefke, Brad Blackshear, and Eric Reinwald three-wide for third. With six to go Justin Sax spun, bringing the next slowing. No laps this time before Seitz again spun, this time in turn three. Haefke was second after a lap of green then Wright’s run went sour when he spun in turn two, apparently the result of a flat tire. For the green with five to go it was Brandon Blackshear, Haefke, Reinwald, Brad Blackshear, and Jace Ferringer. Sax again spun, in turn four, getting sent to the pits for causing three cautions. Four cars had problems in turn four, at lap eleven. Gary Olson, Ashley Rogers, Mark Titus, and Kyle Reinwald were involved and all needed towed from the track. With two laps remaining the leader, Brandon Blackshear, suddenly slowed on the front straight, bringing caution with the time limit being reached. Haefke inherited the win over Eric Reinwald, Brad Blackshear, Ferringer, and Chuck Steinle Sr.

Brian McGarvie and Bill Fuchs brought the Sunnyside Farm Transit Mini Stocks to green. The cars did not compete a lap before Kyle Adkins, celebrating a birthday, spun into the wall in turn three. Matt Miller came to the front but slowed dramatically in turn two in front of the field but all racers managed to avoid contact but yellow was shown with another complete restart. Miller exited to the pit under caution. When lap one was finally compete it was Fuchs leading with Logan Keney and Joe Campbell fighting over second. Lapped traffic was a factor already on lap four with Campbell taking advantage to get around Fuchs. At halfway it was Campbell, Fuchs, Logan Keney, Matt Miller, and McGarvie. Yellow again flew at lap ten when eighth running Dale Fraschetti spun coming out of turn four. Campbell lengthened his lead over the final two laps, winning over Fuchs, Miller, Logan Keney, and Jim Jones.

The final feature of the night was the Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stocks with Tim Deutsch and Dave Snyder bringing the field to green. Yellow brought a restart before a lap was completed when Garrett Calvert and Troy Dezarn spun in turn three. Deutsch led from green but six cars piled up coming out of turn four, almost completely blocking the track and putting the race under red. Deutsch again led after green with Jimmy Kennerknecht coming to second. Deutsch’s lead was half a straight at halfway with Kennerknecht still second, Ron Boardman third, reigning champion Shaun Fawcett, and Dave Snyder. The leader continued to stretch his lead until lap twelve when Darr Diegelman spun in turn four, bunching the field directly behind the leader. Fawcett spun in turn two on the final lap, bringing yet another caution and forcing a one lap dash for the win. Coming to green Ron Boardman dropped a driveshaft while running third, spun, and negated the start. Deutsch won the event over Kennerknecht, Snyder, Fawcett, and Tony Bruno.
