Skyline Speedway Returns To Action, Thanks Fans This Friday

(Stewart, Ohio) After nearly a month off from racing activities, the Skyline Speedway is set to return to action this Friday June 2nd, with a $5 General Admission “Fan Appreciation” night which will include racing in all regular classes including an AMRA Modified qualifier event for the highly anticipated Greg Schilling Memorial which is set for June 9th. The staff at the Skyline Speedway looks forward to putting on this special fan appreciation event as the track hopes to give fans an affordable night at the races, to kick off what is shaping up to be a busy month of racing!

Over the past month the staff at the Skyline Speedway has been working to ready the facility for a busy summer of racing. The track which has made some minor changes to the racing surface and track prep procedures, expects that racing will only continue to improve over the summer months. The last Friday night event saw a thrilling AMRA Late Model feature with Jeremy Berwanger edging Tyler Carpenter in a photo finish, and the staff believes that fans can expect more of that action over the coming months!

This Friday’s event is slated to host racing action in the AMRA Late Models, AMRA Modifieds, AMRA Sport Mods, 4-Cylinders and for the first time in 2017, the track will host the WRA Mini Wedges. Boasting some of the richest weekly payouts in the region, the staff expects to continue to see some of the regions best and most competitive car counts converge on the 3/8th mile red clay oval. With this Friday’s Modified portion of the racing action being the previously noted, Greg Schilling Memorial Qualifier, an even stouter field of Modifieds are expected to be on hand, as they battle for a coveted provisional in the special Modifed crown jewel event and take one last chance to dial their cars in before the June 9th event,

Gates will swing open at 4 PM on Friday, with racing set to begin at 7:05 with the Mini Wedges with hot laps slated to begin immediately after. Friday’s “fan appreciation” event will also include $1 plain hot dogs for race fans as promoter Steve Curtis wants to give fans a fair, cheap and fun night of racing at the track they have supported all spring.
