For the first time since 2013, the World of Outlaw Craftsman Late Models will ride into NAPA Wayne County Speedway on Saturday night as the tough local drivers will try to protect their dirt. Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Illinois will lead the traveling group into NAPA WCS with three wins and a 94 point lead over Tyler Erb. A couple of drivers who have had success at ‘Orrville’s Historic Oval’ back in the ’90’s, when the track was called Buckeye Speedway and the S.T.A.R.S were the biggest traveling organization, Rick Eckert and Chub Frank, as the two Pa. drivers are in the top 10 for the WoOCLM’s. Eckert is third in the points with a win while Frank sits 10th. Chris Madden of SC with a win is fourth and GA’s Shane Clanton is fifth in the points with two wins in hand. Dresden’s Devin Moran is the early leader for the WoOCLM’s Rookie of the Year as he has posted two top five’s so far this year and is 7th in the points behind KY’s Eric Wells.

When the World of Outlaws were here back in 2013, Dave Hess Jr. of Waterford PA. claimed the win and he has already pocketed a win at NAPA WCS this season, winning on May 13. Some other hot shoes from surrounding states are expected in like Matt Latta, Matt Lux and Steve Casebolt.

Of course the local drivers will be looking to pull of a big upset with the likes of last years track champion and five time champ, Brad Malcuit along with another 5 time champion in Ryan Markham. The driver with the most wins the last two years and also won this past Saturday night at NAPA Wayne County Speedway is Doug Drown and along with his teammate Charlie Duncan will be looking to stop the ‘Outlaw’s’

It will be a 50 lap, $10,000 to win feature with qualifying, heat races, a dash and last chance race for the World of Outlaw Craftsman Late Models. The Lowes Super Stocks will be in action also.

Gates will open at 3 p.m. for both the Pits and Grandstand, with Hot Laps and Qualifying at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.
