STRONGSTOWN, PA (May 19, 2017) – Ralph Morgan, Jr. passed Rance Garlock with four laps to go to win the first-ever appearance of the new Mason Dixon Shootout Series for Limited Lates. Uniontown’s Michael Lake made a last lap pass to win the Townsend Gas & Oil Super Late Models while Mike Laughard made it two straight in the Lias Tire CARS Crate Late Models. Jack Theys, of South Fork, won his first of the season in the DM Craig Fabrication & Welding Services 4 Cylinders. Rance Garlock started on the pole of the 25-lap Mason-Dixon Shootout feature for the Limited Lates. Garlock took the lead as the green flag dropped with Ralph Morgan, Jr. and Robbie Black in pursuit. The trio ran through lapped traffic with Andrew Yoder closing to make it a four car battle. A yellow on lap 18 gave the leader a clear track on the restart. Garlock again assumed command but could not shake Morgan. Morgan passed him coming out of turn two and led the final four laps to earn his first series win of the season. Garlock held on for second over Robbie Black, Eric Irvan, Shaun Jones, Devin Hart, Andrew Yoder, Derrick Quade, Matt Nailor and Dillan Stake. Heats were won by Black and Garlock.

The start of the Townsend Gas & Oil Super Late Model feature saw Indiana’s Dave Blazavich out run Waylon Wagner into turn one. Blazavich kept his lead through three cautions looking to secure his second win of the season. A restart on lap 21 bunched up the field. Lake, who was third at the time, quickly passed Wagner for second and set off after Blazavich. On the final lap Lake dove low in turn three and powered ahead out of turn four to take the win. Blazavich, Wagner, Dan Angelicchio, Clate Copeman, Rick Singleton, Doug Glessner, Dwyane Taneyhill, Shawn Claar and Robbie Marhefka completed the top ten. Wagner and Blazavich were the heat winners.

Fallentimber’s Tyler Wagner won his career first in the 15-lap AMSOIL Pure Stock feature. Wagner led every lap holding off Brad Benton and then Shawn Shoemaker for the big win. Shoemaker, Chad Walter, Brian Savino and Brad Benton were the top five. Wagner also won the lone heat.
